I was under the impression that the idea of idling was to keep the oil pump running whilst the turbo's spooled down to prevent oil starvation to the bearings.

Just sell it, get another car and move on, there's only one person to blame for not using it !!!!!.

My local MOT station charged me £50 for a re-gas and complete system check, done it all with some portable machine, seems fine now. Interesting point as well, everytime I switched my aircon on it smelt strange in the car, like stale water, turned out to be a blocked drain pipe underneath the car which runs off the excess condensation when the aircon is working.
