  1. Hi Frank, thanks for your input. I don't know if there is a enough room around the hole in the fascia/scuttle to get the legs of the puller in, the universal puller I already have won't go anywhere near it.
  2. Hi Noz, The problem is with the nearside headlight. It is always full of condensation and the insert is starting to colour up around the outer edge (looks like rust). I have tried siliconing around all of the bulb holders because I read somewhere that there are different size bulb fittings! My next option was to seal around the outer edge but I thought I might get some ideas here first, either way the headlight will need some sort of refurb. The offside light is perfect, it has the same bulbs fitted but no sign of condensation or corrosion at all. Cheers.

    Car won't start

I've bought a Ctek so hopefully no more problems. Thanks again.
  4. Hi all, Is there anyone on here that refurbishes headlights? I've got UK spec glass ones and the passenger one is always full of condensation, if I take it off and dry it out it's fine for a couple of days but then get wet again. I have tried sealing around the bulb sockets etc but still no joy, the drivers side has no issues at all. Thanks.
  5. Cheers fella, Will give it a try.
  6. Hi Guys, What is the easiest way to remove the wiper arms. I bought a universal tool but it won't fit under the plastic fascia, I didn't think it would but it was only a couple of quid so worth a try. I want to remove the plastic fascia and get it painted as well as paint the wiper arms. I am assuming that as they are on a tapered spline that will be a bit of a bugger and I don't want to damage the bonnet. Cheers in advance.

    Car won't start

Thanks for all the advice guys, put a new battery on this morning, only turned over twice and started straight away, good old Toyota.

    Car won't start

I've just ordered a new trickle charger, and will get a new battery, see how we go from there. I had a new alternator fitted a few years back too.

    Car won't start

Thanks for the replies, I have checked the battery voltage and it is showing 11.7V. I am wondering if the charger is knackered because that is showing the battery is fully charged. Could the immobiliser still be at fault even though the starter is clicking when I try to start it? I had a new alarm/immobiliser fitted when I had a shed load of work done in mid 2019. The battery was replaced at the same time. The battery did go completely flat over the winter because the alarm went scatty and I couldn't shut it off. I did wonder about the starter motor, although the car had been standing for about 5 years before I had all the work done and it was performing fine when I got it back on the road.
  10. Hi guys, Car been off the road for about a year. Have been doing a bit of work, put it all back together, charged the battery, connected battery and was waiting for the alarm to go off but it didn't. Alarm fob is working OK, arming and disarming, turned ignition to on position, dashboard lit up OK and there were a few clicks. Turned the key, and just got some clicking noises. Turned ignition off and turned back on again, and there were no lights in dash. Turned the key, and it just clicked. Any ideas?
  11. Have just bought two new catches from Toyota, how do you change them when everything on the front is standard and the lower locating bolts are hidden?
  12. Have you managed to sign these off yet? Will be at the Friday 1st meet.

  15. I have sent a request to join the mkiv facebook page but have received nothing back, do I need recommendation from someone already registered? If so can someone get me in.
  16. Great to see everyone last night, old and new faces. Will have to try and get some runs out planned like the old days.
  17. Mine has been repaired now. The guy cut out all of the rust and welded a new profile in. The whole car has been either painted or mopped, so is looking good once again.
  18. Welcome to the forum, look forward to meeting you.
  19. Have just bought a puller off ebay for £3-50, will see how that goes when it arrives.
  20. That's what I thought, I tried to get mine off some while back but was concerned about damaging the bonnet. I want to remove mine to paint them and also get the plastic cover underneath them powder coated, as its started to dull off a bit.
  21. Silly question but how do you just pop them off? They seem to be on a tapered spline which means they will require some sort of levering?
  22. We've got the same problem with the off side catch not staying closed. I have tried to lubricate the cables and the white plastic splitter, however there is no room to get any lube cans in there. How can I get the splitter out without dismantling the entire front of the car? There seems to be two plastic screws holding it in place from underneath.
  23. Will be M10 x 1.25 pitch, could be either a 14mm A/F or 17mm A/F spanner size depending on positioning. Good tip evinX.
