  1. Now Im not saying this is the problem (coz Im not that clever) but.... Ive just had exactly the same rev problem with my car + high temps on the EGT gauge. Mine was narrowed down the the Map ECU Air Temp sensor. Not sure which system you run on but just thought it could be a possiblity. (my rev needle problem only occured at low revs though, like in slow moving traffic) Dale
  2. that knocks that one on the head then
  3. Do N/A's have active front spoiler, if so, it could be the down button is on.
  4. Anyone know if these manuals would be any good for UK car or am I best getting Toyota ones
  5. Anyone know of a workshop manula that available for UK supras. Ive looked on the Haynes site but they done do em
  6. oops my mistake...typo....MAP sensor duhu Cheers ladz
  7. My car is in for a few problems at the moment, poor mild acceleration and EGT gauge lighting up. Having established the car is running lean, the problem has been chased down to a knackered MAP sensor. Been in touch with the previous owner (Darrell Payne, great bloke lots of help ) who tells me the unit came from New Zealand. If I find that a replacement is not available and rather than going back to the original layout, can anyone suggest a suitable replacement available in the UK that aint gonner cost an arm and a leg. Cheers Dale
  8. I'm thinking about a paint job next year and was concidering blending them in, cant make my mind up I do quite like the "industrial look"
  9. Yeah Dazz did say he'd made them deeper coz he wanted really phat wheels n tyres. I was considering ditching the front plate, but the stick on ones look shite too
  10. Ive got Darrells old motor with those fitted front and rear. See dazzspeed.co.uk Darrell was sellin them for 250 each end (I think). http://www.silent-troopers.co.uk/supra/pic1.jpeg http://www.silent-troopers.co.uk/supra/pic2.jpeg
  11. Been onto said bloke and he said that at the moment with it being only an inch or so away from No.6 cylinder the sensor is only picking up temp's from that cylinder not an even range temp of the exhaust gasses. ??? Being a dumbass noob to all this lark Im not sure whether it should be moved or not now The initail problem was that the EGT gauge started lighting up at 900 C recently, it used to max out at 850 before, I know this could be because its lean or fuel probs etc, which is why Its with this guy to start with. Will it cause problems if it does get moved? or jus an inaccurate reading. Anyone got a diagram I could see and then show him (its a Greddy Gauge (not sure if that makes a difference)
  12. Ive got my car in with the local "expert" solving a few problems Ive got atm. When he looked under the bonnet he told me that the EGT sensor isnt located in the correct place. At the moment its in the exhaust manifold adjacent to 6 cylinder, he says it should be after the turbo so that it read a more even temperature (ie all 6 cylinders rather than just pot 6). Is this chappy right or what???

  16. Ya'll have to book up soon to get in there this time of year...good idea tho BTW Kopite you got your car back from painters yet?
  17. Where abouts is the "do" gonner be ... quayside:? I think theres a late train on Sat nights Chris... could "rail" it up and back.
  18. got them set on 16...... recommended maximum damping. Yeah tis a bit worrying. Getting someone to look at them next week.
  19. Ive just recently fitted Tein Flex coilovers (bout 6 weeks ago) but didnt need to do any rear mods they just fit straight in. Have to say thou Im not that impressed with them theyre a bit "wobbly" on the arse end. Also the electronic ajustment is for damper ride not ride height, this has to be done manually with 2 spanners (supplied).

    EGT temp

So does that mean I have a problem when it lights up at 900 c, if so, what would it be and whats the fix?

    EGT temp

Can anyone tell me what setting I should have my EGT gauge set at so that the warning light comes on at the correct warning temperature. Ive got it set at 900 C at the moment and it occasionally comes on when running full boost for any length of time, but I wasnt sure if this is the correct setting. The probe is on the exhaust manifold upstream of the turbos nect to No 6 cylinder. Also (being a bit of a thick nooby) I assume that the EGT gauge is there to protect the turbos from high temp's , is that correct?
