  1. Having a bit of a nightmare trying to decide the best way to go regards suspension setups. I've had some evil still coilovers on the last sup (Apexi N1), and living in the country prefer the standard shock/lowered spring setup that is on the new car.. Trouble is it just too low... 19's actually scrub on the wheel lining under maximum compression. There are plenty of springs available, does anyone have any first hand recommendations on ride hight and feel?
  2. Jurgen's guys said this one was absolutely mint, one of the reasons we went after it - that and it had 40k on the clock. My last sup was 96 and had a poor interior compared to this (bit of heat damage as the cars age) This one is immac inside so I 'recon it's been in a garage all it's life... No respray anywhere... It does seem brighter than the normal silver... it looked very different on the auction shots too.
  3. It's Do-Luck... Still got some engine work to do, and where and what are the best spats? Also thinking of changing the suspension, what do you think the best allround sup suspension is. I has a set of apexi N-1 and it was way to hard (dangerous on our rough roads) who do the best replacement spings - sensible ride height and best performing for moderately rough roads...?
  4. Am desperately looking for a pressure tank for sequential system. Am also not trying to go too close to toyota dealerships and wondered if anyone knows who has reclaimed sup engines/bits. You tuners/traders out there must have taken loads of these tanks off cars when fitting singles.... any info greatly received! Mike
  5. We always sign everything at work damaged regardless. Carriers don't care and we are covered if we need to make a claim later.
  6. After trying to get the sequential system running properly I have officially thrown in the towl after the Fcon seems unable to cope with the lastest tank of 97 ron fuel. I want to take the car to someone who can get it running right - the chequebook is coming out. Who is the best to help me remap and sort out this whole mess, what are my options? any suggestions? Pic of the Fcon attatched and bear in mind I'm based in Teeside, (NE). cheers,
  7. Hi Ian, and everyone else. Right; curiosity got the better of me and, as suggested, I plugged the feed to the IACV to test the first turbo, (preventing the IACV actuator from working) and guess what. Still get kangaroo boost on turbo 1. 0.4bar to 0.2 bar cycling over and over. I checked the IACV actuator and it seems free with good movement, strong spring return and the valve slides open to a point and then clicks back into place when released - all seems fine. Now the next step can only be one of three possibilities; It's either EGBV actuator or EGBV VSV malfuctioning and not providing steady realease when the system is starting to spool turbo 2. The only thing is that the kangaroo boost starts as soon as the first turbo starts to spool, say 2.2k rpm and it kangaroos from here upwards. Does the EGBV act as the only wastegate for turbo one? Or it could be a similar malfuction on the main wastegate or wastegate vsv... but as far as I understand the wastegate only opens when you pass 4k rpm and both turbos are working in parralell... Lastly it could be the HKS Fcon opening vsv's when it's not supposed to... Still this doesn't answer the question as to why, when I block the vent on the IACV VSV I get steady, if pathetic 0.4 bar of first turbo boost with no second. It's getting more and more confusing! I am thinking about disabling and plugging the EGBV vsv too see if then holds steady boost on turbo one. Obviously I would have to take it steady and keep under 3.5k. would this be the logical next step? What is the standard operating pressure of turbo one and what are it's safe limits? hope you can help!
  8. Thanks for that; I'll be back on the case tomorrow. Would love to say that I love a good mystery, but this one is starting to get more complicated the further I look... Oh and what is stock pressure for the 1st turbo just for refrence? 0.6 bar? The hose that I replaced with the new blue hose was so stiff it was almost solid. I have a feeling I may be replacing a lot of hoses soon. They don't last for ever I guess, Although this is a 94 car, it's only done 72k km (43k miles). thanks for the help - I may be back!!
  9. Hi Everyone, Need your help......My new sup came from Japan (thanks Jurgen), and it's had a bit of work done to it over there.. This is not quite a standard intake system, and I think it's had some VSV surgery along the way, and unfortunately it's not running quite right... The VSV for the intake air control valve seems to be the primary suspect at the moment. There is a naked terminal on the the VSV that when capped (it wasn't supplied to me capped) produced smooth boost at .4 bar right through the rev band, but no 2nd turbo power increase, or appreciable power from the 1st turbo either - but it is smooth and steady holding .4 of a bar. When you un-cap this terminal boost on turbo 1 oscillates between .5bar and 0, cycling over and over until it hits 4k revs and hey presto full and smooth 2nd turbo power, just like normal. Can someone who knows about these things tell me if it is the right VSV for the IACV and if so where the uncapped end (or general plumming if mine is completely misplummbed) goes to... I have no idea, it must go somewhere! I'm really scratching my head and need your help!

  11. Is it easy to fit? - Let me know - I need one, it doesn't fix or convert your kmh milage though... anyone know a fix for both...?
  12. Are you sure that the first turbo is the one nearest the driver...? 2 different people think its the one at the front of the engine bay... anyone clarify?
  13. Thanks Steve - I've been on this forum over a year now and I didn't know it was there - mine of info - Thanks...
  14. Thanks Gaz, There's a few bits I need from you anyway, The car runs and HKS F-con system, is there anyone around here that is good at the HKS system, I hear it is fairly specialised..?
  15. Doing some checking of the TT system (oscillating boost on first turbo)- suspected cracked hoses etc, and trying to understand exactly how it all works. Please bear with me as this is all new to me... What is a VSV - the interface between the waste gate actuator and the ecu? Which is the 1st Turbo? Front or back.. and where does the boost solenoid fit into the above scheme of things - I understand that you have to make sure it is disconnected when using a boost controllor. Would love to take this to one of you guys but I live in the middle of no-where in the north and there arn't many specialists nearby, so I'll check all the plumming to see if it clears the gremlin before I make a long trip to to some one who can check over the HKS Fcon and evc system it was supplied with.
  16. Sorry, would love to but Sunday is reserved for the spanner. besides I am still awaiting the DVLA. Walked in there yesterday, took a ticket, went away and did half an hours shopping, returned and I was still waiting ten minutes! It was like the black hole of calcutta.
  17. They are Racing Hart, bought off the guys at Envy. Chrome dish, laser cut alloy struts. One of my better buys!
  18. Jurgen, and everyone, here is the pic of the car Jurgen bought for me;
  19. As far as my ability goes I think it's going to be a case of check everything visually and then take it to someone who has the ability to map the HKS F-con system well, after all it needs re-setting to 95 ron fuel. Any idea who is the best in the UK at the F-con system? Thor/TDI/Vortex..?
  20. Hi Everyone, The new 6sp has a faullt maintaining boost control on the first turbo; It spools really early, climbs to .4bar, then drops all pressure before repressurising, hitting.4bar then dropping back to zero again, hence Kangaroo acelleration. On light throttle it will hold .3 bar, but push it to .4 and it trips again. Push it onto the 2nd turbo and full power is held at 1.1 bar (as per the EVC presets), same as my last car. The car is running HKS F-con V, and a latest series HKS EVC, what do you think the suspects could be?; pressure leakage in a pipe? sticky actuator? Electronic hardware problem? softwear problem? all suggestions greatly recived, I have a feeling (hoping!) it could be a simple fix...
  21. Jurgen drove me from Newcastle to Felixstowe to pick up my car from the docks on Monday. What a guy! The car is awesome, it's not until I got it home, washed and wheels changed that I realised just how good the car is. 2 years older than my last one, and to be fair the engine is a lot smoother, interior immaculate as described. He's also helped me out paintshop wise, paperwork wise, and parts sourcing; Top Bloke.
  22. I've just bought a car of Jurgen - I ordered it through him, he arranged shipping, extra photo's and has been 110% genuine right through the whole process. The best thing about it that we found the exact car I was looking for at the right price. I toyed with a few low budget ones, but when the right one comes you get it at a very good price. I was embarrased at the number of cars we looked at but Jurgen was always putting my interests first - a top guy, and as long as you commit to buy from him he will find you an amazing piece of kit. I pick mine up from Felixstowe tomorrow afternoon! You have to be prepared to act quickly though, it can be last minute notice... but the choice is excellent, and a lot of the cars we passed over now find themseves in the autotrader having been bought by dealers. It's nice to be one step ahead!
  23. Hi Nic, Look lovely but very expensive, did I hear yu can get them without the airbag mechanism for less?
  24. No one else seen anything like this before??? Cme on you lot!! someone out there must have seen something like this..?
