Thanks, baby is fun, but hard work, alongside running my own business! Yeah - I'm massively pushed for time, just being realistic with my options. If it doesn't sell, the money that goes into the car over winter - plus the added prices at the start of the next years summer season coming would certainly add to the sale price significantly, so someone could easily swoop in and get a bargain right here and now. Lowish milage TT6 VVTI with all that tech..

Baby is here, business is mental, and sleep is fleeting! Amazing how things ahve changed over the last 3 weeks. As much as it pains me to say I would really like to sell the supra before I undergo paint and seals.. It's a really great car. needs some work, but ready to go to a new home :-/ I have all receipts for the work, and over the years there is a lot money in there. I't my intention to get the seals done in the next 2 weeks, so I would really like to sell her before I start putting my own money in, for it will just be added onto the end price when she comes up for sale again in the spring...

OK, heavy heart... In truth I have not used her much in the last 5 years, and I have a newborn coming in 2 months. I don't drive her to her potential, and work harder now than ever. With a newborn, commitments to my business and my sport, she needs a new life... There is some work that needs doing on her now, but I know I don't and will not have the time. My life is just too busy, and it's not going to get any easier.. I bought here from one of the boards old school members back in the day, and have had her since 2008. Good bits: There is a lot in the car - it's a vey high spec, but it needs work to get it tidied up and singing. Spool is very good, response excellent - ecu is brilliant. Just put 4 new tyres on her a week ago. alloys were re-painted a year ago and are perfect aside one scuff. Bad bits: This is where I need to list all the niggles that I simply do not have time to sort :-( - Needs valve seals. Smokes very lightly on startup, but doesn't use any oil. - Could use a re-spray - as the paintwork is tired and it needs some rust sorting on rear arches and some of the body work sorting - Exhaust needs some fab work. Downpipe has a crack - I have a new downpipe, but not had time to get the fab work done to install. - She needs a new set of coilpacks - on long runs in the summer she starts to missfire under heavy boost. Fine when normal running temps. Plugs were replaced recently and have no more than 600 miles on them. - could do with a new bonnet liner. Price - well, you know, I'm open to reasonable offers - I know what it would fetch if 100%, how much it would cost to get it there, know it's a rare example at the moment, but I just don't have the time to sort... This is a fantastic bit of kit for someone who wants a top spec supra but is prepared to do some work. email is; [email protected]

Ha, to be honest I rarely use the car's potential these days, but when you can, and when it's safe, it's quite something. So many new quick production cars these days I'd like to have a drive in a few of the meaty ones to see how they compare. Hard to believe that my car is now 17 years old..

Ordered a complete set of NS2R's. will update in a few weeks.

love the vids on your sig. Think I'd have a heart attack if it were me. lol at the ring taxi..

Hmmm... The pilots scored really badly on those tests, but the old owner of my car back in the day swore by them, and those tests were on a fwd golf. Not exactly capable of doing what I suspect a supra can do to a tyre in the dry. R888 - I did some reading and though expensive, they are supposed to have poor wear, plus I hear they are harsh, camber hunters and wet is "drivable" not really to be trusted. I do have a little experience on aggressive tyres - a set of slicks in the garage which I have used for track days. They are EPIC in the dry, infact overpower the suspension and brakes, but cold, even on a hot day... I can see why they are illegal! lol Johnny can I ask - you enjoying the GT-R? Is it enjoyable to drive? You miss the supra at all?

Hi All, Been a while since I posted. I'm looking for a new set of rears; 275/35 R18, and I have always used Goodyear Eagle F1's (as the car was a daily driver and I used to do miles in the wet). However I was always aware that the F1 doesnt like power and dry roads - mine would turn to treacle if you showed them any spirit. So I started looking at reviews. Specifically this caught my eyes; Best tyres: evo Tyre Test 2015 and when started looking at getting some of these, - the winner being I discovered that they don't make these, and half the other tyres in the test, in the size I need. Seems 18" is old school!... just like me ;-) So what do people recommend these days? Dry, takes decent power (I run 600hp+), and progressive... ?

just watched this... *not going* lol

No, oddly, and I'd be very keen to know why it failed. The pipe was as old as the build (now maybe 6-7 years) and it's had a few different turbos on there over the years so it's been on and off a good few times. I would have thought an armoured cable such as this would be as strong as they get, but the breach was so severe that at idle the oil was being fanned out through the shielding like a garden sprinkler. Not good! I'll fit the replacement with great care, and may well to an autopsy on the failed hose once off the car.
-
Oil pipe was boost logic, around 35k old, not sure who they used as a supplier. Blanket was a recent replacement from eBay, but the blanket did not burn, just the oil it was soaked in :-( Oil had not got as far as the dp and the wrap on it, as it was shielded for the most part by the blanket. Took a fair amount of oil to top her up gain, and a big mess to clear up.:-/
-
On a road trip to go surfing, 80 miles in started smell a bit of oil so picked a service station on the A1 to pull over, saw a bit of smoke when I drew to a halt... Popped the bonnet to see the turbo blanket had just caught alight. Could not put it out with the dry extinguisher I had (just sparked back to life like a comedy candle), so whipped it off and threw it on the grass. Thankfully no more flame, no fingers alight, no damage, other than oil everywhere, so waited for it all to cool to find out what was going on. On closer examination turns out that the armoured oil feed pipe to the turbo has sprung what I would call a catastrophic leak spraying oil all over the hot side of the engine. NO damage to the shielding, just failure of the internal pipe :-/ Had I not stopped it would have drained the oil in no time as well as giving me a good sized bonfire to keep me warm on a winters day. Cleaned off the pipe, bound it with 5 rolls of insulating tape, taped it as clear as I could from heat and limped home at the lowest rpm I could manage... Be careful out there!
-
I asked Ryan about the same thing my syvecs and there is a code in there where you set the number of cranks before the engine is allowed to fire - Ryan did say that it's better to crank the oil through the engine before firing - sounds sensible :-)
-
I run syvecs and oem vvti dbw - ryan did a good job mapping it, but the stock body is not without issues - it can be a p.i.t.a. sometimes.
-
I run CW and rate them too - as well as his geo setup.

Incredible, A excellent example of how not to portray business. After reading that post I'm just shaking my head, not even laughing. How utterly arrogant! Pray they make a traders application, for I feel the backlash from this community would be something to behold.

I ordered an extra boss today - The original plumbing is neat - will try and make the new plumbing extra neat too. I just cant abide that noise :-( I'm sorry, but on a public road I die a thousand deaths every time it goes off. For me it's like having tourettes at your grandparents bbq. My car was so loud when I bought it - full 4" system and screamer pipes. It's now 3" with twin boxes, internal wastegate and sound insulation. Civilisation is it's middle name.

Just fitted the old cleaned and re-lube'd valve and it's the best of the three. It catches all mild boost, but when you start flowing 1 bar the turbo gets one chat off before it falls silent. That said, the one thing I did notice now I have removed all the piping from the end of the valve is just how much gas flows out of the pipe over a second after the throttle plate closes. It's not just a short sharp pressure drop, it's a gradual and lengthy loss of pressure and once you hear it, you realise just how much gas there is inside the pipework and intercooler to come out of that aperture. I think that if I want to make it silent the valve will have to go very close to the compressor where the pressure is highest, and it's closest to the bit of kit it's supposed to be suppressing and protecting. Thanks Chris - but I can't live with a chirping turbo on a roadcar, track is fine, but i'm a lover of discretion these days. You really think a older stock valve will flow enough gas? the hks "race" type 2 I have is better than ssqv, but it's not enough. Oddly, after looking at both types, I'm inclined to think that HKS are designing fashion item rather than a functional piece of technology :-/ or maybe our cars are just not normal.
