  1. Thanks Chris ... i've sent you an email with additional details.
  2. Thanks for you advice guys ... I phones around Toyota dealers\parts and unfortunately all come to 380 - 390 quid for two including seal kits. Looks like I am going to have to lump it and get the job done as origionally quoted ... they are a good bunch of guys, after all (Chris - yeh, good price for labour).
  3. They are called Westfield motors. They used to work for Toyota and specialise in Toyota repairs. Normally they are good and reliable bunch of guys ... this price, though is hard to swallow.
  4. For the moment, any parts dealer would be useful, just to get a price and go back to the garage to sort this out.
  5. Do you recommend a parts supplier ?
  6. Hi guys. I have just completed my first service only to be told that I have slight play in my rear wheel bearings. The quote for the repairs are : £ 163.12 plus VAT for each of the two bearings. £ 96.00 plus VAT for the labour. Total: £ 608.93 Obviously I am not too impressed in having to pay over a grand (as I need two rear tyres too). Is this a fair price for parts ?
  7. Cheers Pete, I have something to go on.
  8. I'd have to say that yes it does seem to be when the first ends and second begins. Pete, you probably remember this issue, because you noticed it after adjusting my plugs when I visited you a couple of months back. Its hard to say what the max pressure is for turbo 1 because I have only 1 gauge. I can only assume is attached to turbo 2. The reading does like you say ... 1 bar at about 4k, drop to .6 or .5 bar, raise to max 1.3 bar. Is this normal then, or should be looked into ? I am still under warrenty, thankfully.
  9. I wonder if anybody may have any suggestions regarding a problem I have had since the beginning. Whether my boost controller is switched off or on, whilst in second gear and pushing it through the revs, at the point the boost pressure reaches 1 bar on my gauge it unexpectedly drops a few points (.4 ish) then begins the climb again. Occationally it does it in other gears. The second climb of boost pressure has more acceleration than the first, but that could be due to the revs I have reached. Anybody have any ideas ?
  10. You might want to check with your insurance company that they insure cars with modifications, should you intend to declare them. If they dont you are looking at an invalid policy. Best of luck.
  11. Ok. Graham it might not be the same problem as mine but I will explain the symptoms that occur with me, just incase. I can be in rolling start with low gears in 2nd or 3rd with low revs. Then after flooring the accelerator the boost raises too quickly hitting the fuel cut limit, approx 1 bar. Sometimes border line which gives a stuttering in power. Sometimes violent if pushed too far and the worst being when the fuel is cut completly.
  12. I have a similar problem. Do you have a boost gauge ? If so, what is the reading ?
  13. If you don't have any luck with the link provided, can you tell me what the error message actually says ?
  14. I am toying with the idea of removing mine to be sent to an electrollosis company for chroming. Has anyone any ideas how\what they are supposed to be glued back on with ?
  15. I make you right, I have been given a lot of help regarding this matter, all of it very much appreciated. I looked back on the post that you say the FC cuts in at 15psi. My problem is that if I get a FCD at the weekend, what level can I set it at so not to blow the old girl up. I'll just work it out .. cheers.
