  1. If you want red I would get the Plasti-kote smooth paint available from B & Q or Halfords, it's a much nicer shade of red than the hammerite stuff. I've tried both. They sell metallic red too and loads of colours, it's very durable. You'll get a nicer finish with the spray stuff, I do. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_161846_langId_-1_categoryId_90887
  2. Definately. It's already been said that it's awkward trying to release the tension with one hand and fitting the belt with the other. The force you need to apply to release the tension is higher than what I expected so like terminator suggested you'll need more leverage to make it easier. I couldn't use my socket wrench and socket as the access wasn't great, so I used a 14mm ring spanner with the other end cut off and a tube slid over to give me the extra leverage.
  3. My car is called "the car", my van is called "the van".
  4. ha ha I was just going to put him right.
  5. That's what I thought initially but aren't there limitations and rules regarding who can actually work on a car, removing the fuel hose by someone else may have resulted in another team objecting and making an official complaint.
  6. I don't think it can be explained when two people witness this together .
  7. Natural daylight wins every time for me.
  8. Very spooky indeed, especially for two people to see this together. It might be worth doing some reasearch to see if someone had died at that location, maybe they died before the road was built. Was he wearing modern day clothing or was it dated, this may help?
  9. I agree, pointless really and the carbon footprint would've been significant. A boring circuit too with limited possibilities for overtaking.
  10. I think I put it across wrongly, I would just support Hamilton if he moved to Ferrari and I wouldn't particularly care if they won the constructors title or not. But a British driver car combination and I would want them to win both titles. So you're not bothered if Mclaren don't win the constructors?
  11. I wouldn't dream of supporting a foreign team that doesn't have a British driver.

  14. That was really funny watching the fuel hose travel down the pit road still attached to the car. I'm relieved for Lewis Hamilton but I feel sorry for Philippe Massa as he does appear to be a nice bloke.

    My gauges Picture

Fitting the gauge is no different to any others but fitting the sensor is more difficult. Have you drilled and tapped holes before, if you have very little experience when it comes to working with your hands then you should definately get someone else to do it.
  16. My van was smoking like mad too, not on start up but when it warmed up. No excessive oil in the intake pipes either. I removed the intake pipe to the turbo, I could feel that there was a fair amount of radial play on the shaft so I fitted a reconditioned turbo which fixed the problem.
  17. I'm shocked, that's terrible news. Steve Mcqueen
  18. 48720A - green arrow, 48720A isn't the part number, it's the part name code. The part number is 48710-14110 . The stabilizer bar links are the ones with the red arrow. LH Rear Stabiliser part number is: 48840 -14030 RH Rear Stabiliser part number is: 48830 - 14050
  19. Stabiliser bar links? I can't remember who does them the cheapest but there's a fair difference in price between suppliers, best to do a search.
  20. You can measure the resistance, the accepted values are in the manual but I don't think you'll get a conclusive answer as to whether they're faulty or not. They may well behave differently under load. I had a misfire and I bought some new coilpacks, they made no difference at all. Misfires are very difficult to diagnose. On my car I removed both the crank/camshaft speed sensors, give them a little clean as they weren't really dirty and refitted them and the misfire disappeared totally.

  22. Massa must've been light on fuel. God knows what will happen in the race with all those tight corners, walls and chicanes.
