If I had fitted a vvti engine into a SZ-R Supra I wouldn't be 100% confident of reading fault codes accurately until I confirmed that the engine installation with associated parts was proved to be perfect first. I'm not saying that it hasn't been installed properly but that's where I would suspect the problem would lie. Also, fault codes can be misleading too as I don't think they distinguish between a faulty component and a simple bad connection which I had on my car.

It sounds like the dealer is telling lies. But the mileage is always recorded by the mot station so I'm not sure how someone could get away with clocking the car, obviously it could be done between mot's.
