  1. Thanks again Matt Should be able to get my communications module fitted now. The wiring for the alarm isn't particularly easy to get at but I shouldn't have any problems. Cheers
  2. Great - Green / Orange wire it is. Thanks for the help Matt My communications module also has an input for the alarm status , it must need to know whether the Sigma Alarm is armed or disarmed. Any ideas which one this would be? Cheers
  3. Anyone know where to get some instructions and a wiring diagram for a Sigma M30 Alarm. I've just bought a communications module that will ring me up if my alarm goes off, but I need to find a pager output from the alarm. I've also got a keypad fitted with the Sigma Alarm but I don't have the code. Any help much appreciated.
  4. According to the many road tests on TV it is supposed to be a superb car to drive. Not sure what it would be like for everyday use. But one major aspect puts me off , it just looks too much like a kit car especially from the front! Could get a really nice 911 for that price, low depreciation and bullet proof reliability.
  5. Use some very fine wet and dry sandpaper, I use 1200 grade. The higher the number the less abrasive it is . If it is on a flat area then use a small block of wood or a proper sanding block to wrap the wet and dry sandpaper around. Keep the area well lubricated with soapy water. Be careful not to rub too hard or you'll get down to the undercoat. Once you have got rid of the ridge, use some T-Cut to blend in the new paintwork. I only use masking tape to mask off lights, panel edges, rubber trim etc. I used to make the mistake of masking around a scratch or a dent but you'll always get a ridge.
  6. What's "64-bit " Windows XP Is it the standard version? Wouldn't mind getting XP on my machine, suppose to get less problems than "ME". Where did you download it from? Cheers
  7. Jon Almost every single alloy wheel available has a larger centre bore size. When you buy a set of wheels the supplier will include a set of "Hub Centric Rings". They sit inside the wheel bore so when you fit them on your car they will give you a nice snug fit . They will be made from either aluminium or plastic. centric rings
  8. Can't imagine it would be the solenoid contacts in this case, if you have to move the auto selector back and forwards between N and P then surely Richy would be correct in assuming it was the switch at fault. If it wasn't the switch, then why if you mess about with the position of the selector can you can get it started?
  9. The old battery could have been finished, when you got the new battery did you give it a full charge before you put it in the car. New batteries don't always have a full charge. Can't imagine your alarm would be draining the battery, are you using any other high power electrical accessories? A regulator on your car controls how much charge comes from the alternator to top up your battery. So either the regulator or alternator could be at fault!
  10. I've got a VVTI TT. If you open the bonnet which you must have done by now you will see the top cover on the engine has in big letters - VVTI Geoff pointed you to this site http://www.mkiv.co.nz/ If you look under Specs it will tell you everything about the VIN Plate. Here's a pic :
  11. Not 100 % sure. I think the GS-D3 superseded the GS-D2 . I would send Goodyear's Technical Dept an Email. GoodYear I had a split on the inside of my GS-D3(possible manufacturing fault), they rang me the next day.
  12. I've just ordered a GSM Alarm Monitoring System + GPS Vehicle Locating System. You put a sim card in the unit , it is programmed to ring any telephone number that you specify when someone sets the alarm off. You can also track the vehicle. GSM Alarm
  13. It would be nice to get at last one reply. Someone!
  14. Just found 3 sets of original Toyota Supra Workshop manuals for sale on Ebay in the States , they will ship to Europe. Not sure if these will be suitable for the Uk or Jap import cars. Supra Manuals
  15. Sometimes I just cannot resist replying to some of the threads. Never realised it was that old, I'll have to bear this in mind in the future Found the past threads very useful, better than any manual. Not much of a tip about the plugs! I wish I could afford to buy new plugs, owe money everywhere after buying the car! Read so much about the Nur Spec R, wouldn't mind getting one on the plastic though. Like someone said on an "Old Post"- "You'll want more"
  16. Jake The threads only 16 days old! For the new members like myself who have just got a Supe, then the only way to get as much info as poss about these cars is to look back through the old threads. When a new member asks a common question that's been asked many times before, they are pointed toward the Search button. So if you can add something to an old thread that some of us haven't read before then why not? Never said I would put 7000 mile plugs back in! Just got my car 4 weeks ago, I know the plugs had just been changed . The condition of the plugs can give you an indication of how the engine is running Out of interest I thought I would have a quick look- it would be a liitle wasteful to replace them. Nice to have a bit of an argument- stimulates the blood! Just curious, which thread did I revive that had lain dormant for over a year?
  17. Yes it does, suppose to be a better filter Toyota/ Lexus Oil Filters - 90915-20004 vs. 08922-02011 The oil filter (90915-20004) is the V8 Lexus oil filter that will fit the supra perfectly, its used on Lexus V8 engines, it was recommended over the stock toyota supra filter ( 08922-02011). The V8 Lexus oil filter is made in Japan and comes greased up and sealed for clean installation, you don't find that on the supra stock filter, also the V8 Lexus oil filter holds a higher capacity of oil and have a larger filtering area, also the filtering material on V8 Lexus oil filter 'looks' superior to the traditional filtering material on supra stock. Found this on http://www.mkiv.com Tried to post the link but it wouldn't work!
  18. They're not particulaly cheap! No point in wasting money if they are OK.
  19. Don't know anything about neons. But if it recommends 4 neons in series and you use only 2 you will be putting too many volts across them. Had a quick look on Google, some have external transformers(must mean they don't use 12v dc). You would have to see what the neons are rated at.
  20. Using a relay won't make them use less power. The relay is used to switch on high power circuits. You can buy 40 amp automotive relays at most car accessory shops. You do have 2 circuits. Circuit 1. relay coil Circuit 2. 40amp switch on relay I could tell you exactly how to do it in detail. But If your not sure I think you would be better off asking someone who has done this sort of thing before. You would't want to f*ck anything
  21. There are good and bad points for both cars. Most of us are probably biased. It's much more important to look at the condition, mileage and history of each car.
  22. Very reasonable prices I paid £145 for 255/35/18 last time. I went to "High Q" today to ask about prices, I've got a faulty tyre and Goodyear recommended them. They quoted £210 each. Must be kidding- best to shop around.

    car colour

I thought the same with my front bumper, it does look a different shade to the bonnet when you look at the front of the car. But if you stand next to one of the doors and compare the top of the bumper where it joins the bonnet they do look the same shade.
  24. Because all Supe's are rear wheel drive and your speedo reading is directly proportional to how quickly your rear wheels turn. So if you keep the same tyre diameter as the originals on the back then your speedo will be accurate. You could put front tyres on of any size at all and it wouldn't make any difference to your speedo. I've got 255/35/18 all round- just a nice size I would agree with Matt, balls to the speedo reading. As long as you don't go for a tyre size which is too exteme and they fit you'll be okay. Looks are more important than the speedo
  25. Yeah , that's right. Your foot just rests on the pedal. It doesn't cause any problems, but from a design point of view the play in the pedal doesn't seem right- not this much! I think the cable must have stretched. Cannot imagine it was engineered to be like this.
