    Trl Fcd

Just bought a TRL Fuel Cut Defender for my VVTI TT. It has 2 adjustment switches inside. Fuel Cut is set at "B" Overboost is set at "Eight" Are these okay, there is no info included to say what they should be set at.
  2. I did a search yesterday and someone who I can't remember gave a good tip. Make sure you can remove the filler plug on the side of the gearbox first before you drain the oil. At least you'll know you can get the oil back in!
  3. leett Why!!! Does the boost controller raise the boost? I've got a VVTI with Nur Spec R and hit 0.9 bar , hoping the decat that I'm getting very very very soon will raise it to something approaching 1.2 bar.
  4. I'll just answer my own question. Just been to Toyota Dealer. The part number for V160 gearbox oil is "08885-01306" It is about £26 + VAT per litre. Hope it takes just less than 2 litres:)
  5. I want to replace the lubricant in the 6 speed gearbox. After doing a search I found the one to use is V160, is this Dexron V160? But on the MKIV.NET site it recommends ESSO Dexron D21065. If I ask for some V160 at the Toyota dealer will he recognize this and get the right stuff? The oil was changed a couple of years ago but the previous owner was only charged £15 for 3 litres, this cannot be the correct spec as I've heard the V160 is about £25 per litre. Is this the correct part number for V160 "08885-01306" Thanks
  6. Very close Here's the spec I found General Information Year 1995 Manufacturer Mazda Model RX-7 Trim Twin Turbo Body Type Coupe Base MSRP ----- Curb Weight 2,830 lbs. Engine / Transmission Type 1.3 Liter Twin Turbo Rotary Cylinders 2 Horsepower 255 @ 6500 RPM Torque 217 @ 5000 RPM Redline 8400 RPM Drive Train Front Engine / RWD Gear Type 5-Speed Manual Performance 0-60 mph 5.3 sec 0-100 mph 13.0 sec ¼ Mile 13.7 @ 102.5 mph Top Speed 172 mph Gas Mileage 17 MPG City / 25 MPG Highway
  7. I used a hot glue gun, but I aso used some silicone mastic. The silicone isn't brittle and should last longer. Inside the bumper aperture I removed the bottom plastic strip and trimmed the edge to match the top profile. I got the stainless mesh cut about 5mm larger than the aperture. The mesh was cut using a guillotine .

    what bugs you

One of the many things that irritates me is when some b**tards deliberately turn at a roundabout in the wrong lane. They just don't want to sit and wait like everyone else. God help them if they hit me!
  9. I appreciate that it helps high speed stability but a fixed front spoiler that is low enough will do the same .
  10. Why? Unless you can store the seat position for different drivers I think electric seats are totally pointless! Cannot really say I miss having an active spoiler!
  11. Just fitted my boost gauge at the weekend. I bought a Defi-Link Meter boost gauge, it's an electronic gauge. It has to be connected to the Defi-Link Control Unit II. The gauge has two LEDs. One LED illuminates when the gauge pointer exceeds a warning value which is discretionary with the Control Unit II. The other LED illuminates when the gauge pointer exceeds past a maximum value. The two units cost about £270, well worth the money - good quality! By pressing the rec button on the control unit you can record 3 minutes of data, you can then pull off the road and press play and watch the gauge to see what happened to the boost. Defi Gauges If you have any specific questions just ask.
  12. Thanks everyone, help much appreciated. Good tip regarding the hose. Ta:)
  13. Is this the place to connect it, this tube goes into the sensor with the green label(is this the boost pressure sensor) Pic
  14. Still not sure where to plumb it in. Here's some more photos, can anyone point me in the right direction. Anyone else with a VVTI TT and boost gauge:rolleyes: Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3
  15. Looking for the vacuum pipe to plumb my boost gauge into. I've already looked on the mkiv.com site. I've got a VVTI TT Here's the pic of where I think it should go, can someone please confirm this for me. Boost VVTI The same Vacuum pipe is shown in the second pic. Pic 2 Anyone know what these devices are ,they are plumbed together. Could take a guess but don't want to say something stupid:) Excuse the bad attempt at drawing an arrow on the pics:)

  18. The ChipsAway bloke did a crap job on my van , he filled the scratch but you could still see the crease in the metal and the paint finish was poor. He said "No one else will notice it because they don't know where to look". Arsehole!!!
  19. If you look at the rear light cluster, the jap import has it's clear lights (reversing) on the inside. The Uk model has them second from inside.
  20. Nice looking car - good colour choice. Have you got the glass headlights, they look very shiny.
  21. Just got the prices at my local Toyota dealer Rear discs £110.87 each (part no 42431-14150) Rear pads (set) £66.70 (part no 04466-14040) Full set is £288.45 I also got a price at Halfords with no problems at all - they have a separate catalogue for Jap cars Full set of rear pads and discs is approx £227
  22. I'm looking to replace the Uk spec rear discs & pads on my 97 TT. Where is the best place to get them and how much ? Toyota or Halfords? I've had discs before from Halfords for other vehicles, they were good quality from a well known manufacturer(can't remember which one). Is it a problem getting parts from Halfords for a 1997 J Spec car, or should I tell them that it has UK brakes and maybe they can select a 1996 UK car on their computer? Thanks

    Car Cover

I'm looking for a cover aswell. This place in the states looks good, they will deliver to the UK. The Ultraguard™ Car Cover looks the one for me, it's not cheap but it's a custom fit for the Supra. You can even select one to fit the Supra that doesn't have the rear wing and you have a choice of colours. Ultraguard Car Cover
  24. Why do you think it's a scam? £3800 is just the starting price, I'm sure the bidding will go up to some realistic ammount. It could be a scam if you were stupid enough to pay for the car before you see it. I would only hand over the money in person when I could see the documents and get the keys. He says he is located in France, but like you say it looks like the states.
  25. You can buy the communications module at: Here Almost got mine working, having a few problems with not knowing what telephone code to use for my mobile.
