  1. I've got 255's on the back, I've got a decat with a Nur Spec. Under full power the back end does twich a bit. I'll be trying wider tyres next time.
  2. They are usually identified by the code on the body as being BZYC5V1 the 5V1 being 5.1V:)
  3. Might have assemled it on the car first to check the fit, got distracted and just forgot about the clamp or weld.
  4. I've just spoken to Elephant Insurance and they said that it would be perfectly okay if I wanted to fit an alarm myself. They said they don't put much importance on an Alarm anyway because they can easily be disabled. When you do the insurance quote with them they only ask if it's got an electronic immobiliser fitted. I told them that the alarm was faulty, so they have changed the policy to say - No immobilser fitted - No extra charge though!
  5. I tried doing a new insurance quote with Elephant and it only asks if you have an electronic immobiliser fitted. It doesn't ask for a Cat 1 alarm or any certificate for the immobilser. I'll email them to check on this.
  6. Cheers Matt, I'll have to give it some thought.
  7. Wazz72 Not too sure what to do yet, I want to make sure the insurance will still be valid. Cheers
  8. The present alarm has it's siren in a highly visible place under the bonnet. My brother has just got a Toad ai606 fitted to his Impreza, they also didn't make any attempt to hide the siren. If I fitted it myself I would spend the extra time to hide the unit. I've got a certificate with the fitted Sigma Alarm, surely I could replace the unit with a new one and still use this certificate I thought that if I removed this faulty unit and replaced it with a new one I would get 2 key fobs and the pin number for the keypad , I would also make a better job of fitting it than someone who doesn't want to spend the time.
  9. Okay, I've got a Sigma M30 fitted to my car. Sometimes I cannot get the bloody thing to Arm or Disarm. I haven't got the pin code for the keypad and I've only got one remote (new batteries fitted). I want to either take the unit out and fit a new Sigma M30 or buy a Toad ai606. Is it possible to get the installation manual for the Sigma M30, it would make it much easier for me as I won't have to trace all of the wires? Can I buy the Toad ai606 with installation instructions? I would rather do the work myself than let someone else mess with the car. Cheers
  10. Like Jake said register with http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps . We did it ages ago and don't get many of these calls anymore:)
  11. Don't forget you might need some new bulb holders with harness. The clear front indicators I got came with the wedge type bulbs which was okay for my facelift car but I'm sure the earlier car had the bayonet type bulb. Look at the photo's that mcanny posted.

    hello

Just loads of WD40 which is a bit obvious. Two of the nuts were fairly easy on mine to loosen, the third and awkward one was rounded off. I used a nut spitter, it deformed the nut and I bashed on the socket . It then came loose. What a pain in the arse it was though.
  13. I'm thinking about getting a new mobile. If I get the pay monthly contract from Orange I'll get the phone free. Will I at any stage own the phone? I was thinking if it was possible to get the phone free and then after a year switch over to Virgin by getting one of their pay as you go sim cards. Is this possible? Thanks

    Oil Change

No, you don't need anything else. I used my oil filter tool which has a strap,it wraps around the filter and you turn the socket wrench until the slack is taken up and it then will loosen the filter. Any oil filter removal tool will do, it's just a bit fidly because of all the pipes and things in the way.
  15. Looks like good stuff:)
  16. Thanks - forgot about it being on!
  17. Would this not be possible with the calls originating from outside the UK.
  18. My Brother works for the Local City Council and he regularly receives warnings of fraudulent scams. I thought I would pass this on. Telephone Fraud > >We have been advised of a telephone fraud currently in operation (this applies to home and/or work telephones - land lines and mobiles): > >If you do receive one of these calls, upon answering the telephone, you will hear a recorded message congratulating you on winning an all expenses trip to an exotic location. You will then be asked to press 9 to hear further details. If you press 9 you will be connected to a premium rate line that costs approximately £20 per minute. Even if you disconnect immediately, it will remain connected for a minimum of 5 minutes, costing around £100. The final part of the call involves you being asked to key your postcode and house number (which has other serious consequences). > >After a further 2 minutes you will receive a message informing you that you are not one of the lucky winners. The total bill will be £260. Since the calls are originating from outside the UK, BT and other telephone companies are left relatively powerless to act. The only safe solution is to HANG UP before the message prompts you to press 9; even safer is to HANG UP on any unsolicited 'free offer' call. This appears to be a variation on a theme, warnings have been sent previously regarding calls made by individuals claiming to be engineers conducting a test on the line and asking for 9, 0# and text messages similar to the routine described above. DO NOT DIAL 9 (OR 9,0# OR 0,9#) FOR ANYONE! BT has been contacted and confirmed the details as being true. > >There is another scam operating on Mobile Phones. > >A Missed Call comes up. The number is 0709 020 3840. The last four numbers may vary but certainly the first four numbers will remain the same. If you call this number back, you will be charged £50 per minute. People have complained about their phone bills, once they have realised the cost of the call but apparently this is completely legal. So beware, do not call back numbers beginning with 0709. 4774446

  21. An easy solution is to take the main power supply straight from the battery with an inline fuse . I've never looked for any spare supplies in the fuse box. I did this with my last van, I also fitted a 2 pole switch so that for the Mot I could switch it back to operating the normal horn if required.
  22. I would definately not rest if I was a member of this poor blokes family, I would have to get revenge! Death or prison is too easy for them. I would inflict as much pain on them as possible.
  23. Is that "Engine" ! Dusty, what's American for Motor ( as in electric motor ) ?
  24. I sometimes get the same problem on my VVTI . I went for a drive the other day, got back home and when I started it about twenty minutes later the revs had also dropped right down. It's only happens when the engine is hot.
