  1. I think the smaller piece of metal is there to stop glare for oncoming road users, the other piece is to give you the sharp cut-off. Removing one or both would give you more light but might not be so good for oncoming vehicles!

    hello to all

My car is not far off being 8 years old but it's in great condition like others on here. Loads of them have low mileages and have been looked after. Try to get a car that hasn't been modified engine wise and increasing boost etc, I would personally only buy one like this. Some stuff on here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=38382
  3. You'll get better results with oem projectors, the electrics last longer, no glare and sharper cut-off!
  4. A none Renault gear knob wouldn't necessarily fit on the same way though!
  5. The ones at the back are the awkward ones!
  6. Nice looking car, the best colour aswell ! Loads of people on here don't like the red ones but they look superb when they're polished , much better than black or silver.
  7. I bought an Alpine a few months ago, fitted new speakers , new speaker cable with brackets, dynamat etc. Spent quite some time fitting them properly. Very disappointed with the results, the Alpine head unit isn't easy to set up, just too complicated for normal people - not very user friendly at all. No simple controls for adjusting bass etc. I just wanted good quality sound, don't like thumping bass but it just hasn't got much at all! How do I simply add more bass and improve the sound?????????
  8. I've got the 18" Kahns, they only fit over my UK brakes with the aid of a 4mm spacer. The nuts don't screw onto the studs as far as they should! Depends really on the offset of the wheel.
  9. I just did mine last month, I used rubbing compound , fine T-cut and then Novus plastic polish.
  10. That's cheap, it was going to cost in excess of £50 for a manual gear knob from Toyota last year.
  11. Fit proper HID's Paint Calipers Sound insulation in back T-Cut and polish
  12. I waited 2 weeks for mine, they rang me up 4 days after I placed the order to say they had problems with their server. They had received the money but I had to re-order the plate design. It says this on their website now: FANCYPLATES CLOSED TO NEW ORDERS!!! Orders suspended while we work to clear backlog. Tuesday 23rd May 2005 Our online plate constructor software is fully operational but due to a high number of orders, it has led to us being unable to maintain our next day delivery promise. Orders will start to be taken as soon as the backlog is cleared, we hope to begin accepting orders on Monday morning 30th May for delivery on Tuesday/Wednesday. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. Fancy Plates. I'll have to order another 170mm high next week, hope your's is okay!
  13. It's not difficult, but it would be better if you had a workshop manual to follow if you haven't done one before. If you're fairly competent in working on cars you would be okay . You would need to loosen the timing belt and have to make sure it was aligned correctly before re-fitting a new one which isn't strictly necessary but better to do. Also tightening the cylinder head bolts in the correct order and torque. Torque wrench and valve spring compressor would be needed. Not cheap getting someone else to do it as it's very labour intensive,If you're not sure I wouldn't advise doing it without help though.
  14. Thanks Dave, I'll have another look! £18 wasted for me aswell!
  15. So annoying , I ordered one from fancyplates which was 152mm high and it came in the post today- thought it was big enough. On their website it says you can get get the plates reduced in size from the list you can pick from. Didn't I think it was possible to get a larger one ,might give them another go - cheers Elliot
  16. Didn't realise there was a big feckin hole behind the rear plate on my J spec car. I need to get a plate 172mm high by 520mm wide to cover it. I've tried everywhere including http://www.Fancyplates.com, done a search on here and the net with no luck. The max height fancyplates do is 152mm, like most places they don't do custom sizes! Any help appreciated!
  17. I just got my bonnet painted only, you just need to cut back the surrounding paintwork with some t-cut and give it a nice polish!

    New Wheels

19" wheels look nice but you'll be sacrificing ride comfort and it won't handle aswell ! Depends on what you want.
  19. Get the bumper resprayed. The bumper on my car was irritating me aswell, I took it off and got it resprayed last week. It's so much nicer now, I paid more than £200!

  21. A motor factor or decent car accesory shop, don't cut the existing tube on the car. I'm looking for a link to a previous post.
  22. white - illumination orange - ignition
  23. Yeah , get a proper bumper! The car will look so much better!
  24. Not sure about that Nic, I went to see a black facelift a few months ago and it had the smaller brakes!
