  1. If you put a spanner on the bolt and then give it a quick tap with something not too heavy it should loosen. Also try wedging something in to stop it turning, also leave the large jubilee clip in place and then undo the bolt.
  2. I was this morning! Just get sick of hearing those things that's all, fair enough if you don't like red but don't say stupid things about it because I know they're not justified. I can guarantee that most of those that make these comments have never seen a decent well looked after one .
  3. Alpine, you appear to know a little about this car/owner Why is it so cheap?
  4. You're right in saying this, they must never get cleaned and polished. I think this is why a lot of people don't like red. The one in the photo looks a little brighter than stock. But a standard red Supra which is polished looks really nice, that's why I can't understand the remarks about red cars. They don't always look good in photo's.
  5. I just wanted to say that people who repeatedly have nothing better to say than : Shame about it being red. It's cheap because it's red. I would have any colour but red: etc You're a feckin dickhead! Can't you say anything more constructive.
  6. Looks very nice,very smart!
  7. Yes, it's red. I wouldn't change it for anything, it's amazing how many people make complements on how nice the car looks. They all look good if they're polished and well looked after though.
  8. Very good of you. We found a young cat dodging traffic along the road where we live, if we left him I'm sure he would have got knocked over . He's been living with us for 7 months now, likes running up the curtains, carrying tomatoes into the living room and sleeping in the bath to keep cool!
  9. Never heard that one before, all of the gearboxes are known to be capable of handling much more power and torque than they were designed for and so are very reliable. The clutch is fine , not heavy at all. Infact the car is very easy to drive.
  10. Just been checking the price in the States on Supraforums Fuel Filter 23300-49195 FUEL FILTER LIST 27.58 COST 20.06 must be dollars, so that's approx £11.14 , £28.92 over here Also, oil filter 90915-20004-01 SUPRA OIL FILTER(from V8 Lexus) 7.12 ea(dollars) = £4 , I paid £11.42 rear pads(UK brakes) I paid £66 , their price £22 Correct me if I'm wrong , but that's a heck of a lot cheaper I've checked all the part numbers aswell. Curt Aigner who works for Elmhurst Toyota(in the States) will deliver these to the UK (he delivers to Australia no problems) - he's got his own section on Supraforums. He apparently knows his stuff aswell, got his own Supra . I know you've got postage but if you need to order a few things he's got fantastic prices!
  11. Must be fantastic picking up a brand new one , two really nice cars!
  12. Best to do a search, there's been a few group buys. Why don't you just clean them with different grades of plastic polish, cheap to do with good results.
  13. And the fact knowone really knows. Don't think anyone has any real technical knowledge on the subject to make definite recommendations. I would probably change them every 8k miles to be safe but it depends on how you drive the car really.
  14. To raise beam - Inner adjuster nearest radiator (turn cw from engine bay) (turn acw standing infront of car) To move beam towards centre line of car - middle adjuster (turn cw from engine bay) (turn acw standing infront of car)
  15. I paid using money order, some companies provide this service for you for a small charge. http://www.bidpay.com/ Not sure which one I used.
  16. I bought some from Halfords aswell, it wasn't too thick in the tin but it started to dry extremely quickly when applied so it was a right mess. I thinned it down and sprayed it on with my airbrush and it was extrmely smooth and shiny! This bloke on Suprforums uses normal car body paint and he's got some extremely good results, he painted his calipers 24K miles ago and they still look good. He's done over 30 sets, one bloke has just done a track day and the calipers are fine. Here's a few pics
  17. At least you found out now and not when you had a puncture!
  18. He's talking rubbish, I bought some from them and they are fine!
  19. You can also get the dreaded click if your battery is dead, do the electric windows go up and down okay? You shouldn't have to buy the whole starter motor, you can normally get them refurbished.
  20. Daneway, you mean this one in Excel ? http://www.mkiv.com/tmp/Fitment.xls
  21. Reasonable pic at bottom of the page http://www.whifbitz.co.uk/supra-hid.html
  22. Not so bad if you just need the one bottle though. I don't think the Motul RBF stuff lasts that long neither. Must be dependent on how hard you use the brakes though. I was reading an article the other day saying it's not a particularly good idea to use the cheaper one man pressure bleeding kits as their is no barrier between the air and the fluid. Air can be forced into the fluid which isn't good. I'm not really sure to what extent a problem this is! The more expensive kits use a diagphram to keep the air separate from the fluid so they cannot mix. Instead of using the cheaper kits some people recommend doing it the old fashioned way of pumping the brake pedal. Also, it's not a good idea to store an opened bottle of fluid for any length of time and then use it. Any thoughts?
