  1. Couldn't agree more, also the safety of any passengers and anyone you could unfortunately could crash into.
  2. A 52mm gauge is too small to put in place of the clock on the facelift car without making an adapter. I fitted a piece of black plastic behind with the correct size hole. I had a sheet of 3mm black plastic so I made a 52mm diameter hole in it and glued it on the other side of of the dash panel. It's a little set in from the front, the gauge fits in nicely and looks neat! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y122/rexmerckx/CIMG0730.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y122/rexmerckx/CIMG0734.jpg

I've had that pic for months, here's another
  5. Defi gauges are very nice but they aren't cheap. You need to buy the controller aswell! You can remove the clock and put one in it's place. I bought a 52mm defi gauge which I thought would be a perfect fit. It was actually a bit small, I had to make an adapter ring to make it neatly fit.
  6. Might be worth having a look on Supraforums if you haven't already , some good stuff on there and you're more likely to find someone with the same problem as they have quite a few members!
  7. Is that the stabilizer bar link, I need to get some Just been looking on Supraforms - Elmhurst Toyota , you can get them for $32 approx £18. I know you've got delivery prices on top but if you need to order a few things it would undoubtebly be cheaper.
  8. Might cause a little vibration, nothing to worry about. Can't remember the size, take the other one out to look at and buy another with the same thread and length.
  9. Is it happening when you take your foot off the gas and brake, more noticeable at slower speeds?
  10. Black is okay, colour cartridges aren't so good. Original cartridges are far too expensive, only worth it if you need good quality prints.
  11. Are you sure you're pushing it down firm enough so the bonnet catches can hold it down. Careful you don't put a dent in it. On each side near the wing there is a rubber stop which can be turned to lower or lift up , this should stop the bonnet from vibrating.

    exhaust system

Yes, definately. Your boost can be raised from approx 0.8bar to 1.2bar (best not to go any higher) and therefore power will increase. The car will also feel much more responsive with the turbo's spooling up quicker and it will sound so much louder. If you do this it's best to upgrade the fuel pump to a Walbro, get a fuel cut defender and also buy a boost gauge . Colder spark plugs aswell.

Be prepared not to get many replies , this question gets asked all the time. You can get the decat pipes and restrictor ring from Chris Wilson on here. Do a search and you'll get all your answers, best this way because if you do an extensive search you'll get a much more balanced answer. I've got a Nur Spec R which is very popular, some say it hangs a little low. When fitting mine I bent the front supporting bar which raised it up a bit and haven't had any problems.
  14. Yes, when I was using the trac control it did sometimes go into snow mode. But I've got RLTC now and so switch the trac control off. So I shouldn't need one. Thanks Jake
  15. Not sure what you mean? I've definately not got the 112mph speed restriction. Are the ones fitted to most VVTI's at present giving inaccurate speed conversions. I've got some little black box with 3 wires connected to the terminals on the back of the speedo, will that be it (speedo converter)? Please explain why there would be a need to replace it with one from Thor.
  16. Appears to be crazy that this pipe coming off can cause such high AFR's resulting in massive damage to the engine. You would think there would be a failsafe way of protecting the engine under these circumstances.
  17. Yep , frighteningly high AFR. In Jakes case if the rubber tube had come off the FPR and the AFR ratio had shot up, wouldn't the O2 sensor have detected this lean running and shut the engine down?
  18. That was a bit of an unnecessary insult, why did you think he didn't understand it himself ? Have I missed something?
  19. Use a heat gun to warm it up a little and use a piece of blunt plastic to try and peel it off.

Here's some interesting reading on O2 sensors, it appears you can test the sensor with a decent multimeter. Never tested one yet, not sure if this would just reveal a non functioning o2 sensor or it can be used to test for one that is giving slightly faulty readings. http://www.unofficialbmw.com/all/engine/all_o2sensor.html
  21. Just tightened my front subframe bolts. According to the diagram there's 6 bolts on each side, I can only see 5. 3 bolts on the steel subframe and 2 nuts on the aluminium subframe which requires the deeper socket . Out of the 10 , 7 of them needed tightening. I was going to check the engine mount aswell which goes through the aluminium subframe but I've done a search I cannot find the torque setting.
  22. Some stuff here that I saw a while ago. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=27902&highlight=seat
  23. It is used for sensing if your seatbelt is being used, the warning on the dash will illumunate if it's not.
