Big hammer! Depends what brakes you've got. The UK brakes can be a right pain, the pins rust up and can be difficult to remove.
  2. On each side of the car there is 3 bolts on the steel subframe and 2 nuts on the aluminium subframe which requires the deeper socket . They're are so obvious, you cannot miss them. I put the front of the car up on ramps, safer that way - wouldn't want to pull it off a jack.
  3. I've still got the metallic knocking when I brake, only notice it when I'm slowing down to stop. I changed the stabiliser bar links, went out for a drive and the knocking wasn't there initially but as I drove back it started again. Must be something to do with the suspension.
  4. I've heard some have this problem when setting up a new system. Just what I've read: Somebody said it was best to get it working outside in the open air where it can get a good view of a satellite. When it's functioning like it should then put it back in the car. Dunno if this will work, worth a go.
  5. Yes, it is a fuel cut defender and it is a good one!
  6. Car looks nice from the side, doesn't suit the snow plough on the front though.
  7. It's not a turbo, advert has changed!
  8. Disgusting, doesn't look real. :thumbdown
  9. Thanks very much, all clear now!
  10. 0-60 at 3.5s is very quick Thought it would do 1/4 mile quicker than 12s though.
  11. Not sure about this SVA thing. Does this mean if a car was imported and registered before the requirement for a SVA that it would be road legal. Do you need any documentation that should come with the car?
  12. You only need small wooden blocks, they don't need to be any bigger than the cradle on the axel stand. Just like in the pic above, it would be even better to use a couple of small bolts to stop the blocks moving around. If they're a snug fit on the axel stand like they should there's no way they're going to split, you need a slot cut in obviously to fit over the vertical flange which is under the sill.
  13. Hello! Not sure if you'll get many replies, most of us on here own the MKIV Supra , 1993-2002. If knowone on here can help, you'll probably get the advice you need on Supraforums.com
  14. Traction control is only in use when you're losing traction, you know when it's in operation. If you're driving with a light foot, it doesn't matter if it's switched on or off as it doesn't come into play at all!
  15. Yes, the standard traction control is crap. Someone on here got a fright pulling out of a junction across a busy road when the TC control cut in . It's almost like the brakes coming on when you least need them. RLTC is great, you feel so much safer!
  16. If you're driving very carefully with a light foot then the traction control doesn't operate. The light comes on when the traction control cuts in.
