  1. My car came with 3mm spacers on the front and 4mm on the back for some reason. The front wheel barely clears the UK caliper. The nuts were only going onto the studs about 6-7mm which I didn't like so I fitted longer studs, they now go on about 25mm which is great. I suppose it depends on the wheel and how thick the alloy is at the nut seat , this will dictate how much thread you've got to fit the nut on.
  2. It looked as quick as one of those, but it definately had the SLK 350 badge.
  3. Maybe if the SLK was an auto he would have the advantage from a standing start, they're only 0.1s slower to 60 than the manual.
  4. I'm not sure if this would happen when going slowly, but I'll check it out next time I remove the wheels.
  5. Not yet, I think I'll have to give it a go to check if everything's working okay.
  6. Got up behind a new black SLK 350 at the traffic lights at the start of the motorway, I intended to go the other way to fill up with Optimax but I couldn't help myself! I thought it's only a 350 and as I've got a VVTI with BPU and I should go past him. The lights went on green and he rocketed off and caught me a little by surprise, so I took off after him in pursuit. This Merc was seriously quick , I started to gain very slowly but by this time we were doing about 140 leptons and he was in the outside lane. We both got upto about 160 leptons indicated on an almost deserted motorway. We were approaching traffic so I slowed and pulled in to turn off, he did the same infront of the traffic and then disappeared. I aways regret going too fast, just hate the thought of the consequences if I get caught! I've got to admit , I was a little disappointed that I barely had any advantage if any. He must've slowed after approaching his limiter. Standard SLK 350 272 BHP 0-60 5.5s 1480KG
  7. The clonking noise when slowing down hasn't come back since it went away almost 2 months ago after replacing the upper left contol arm and the stabiliser bar links. It now clonks a bit when I reverse slowly out of a parking bay then stop!

  11. Thin the paint a little or use spray paint like I did. Because the caliper isn't a perfect surface, I used Plasti kote silver hammered finish followed by Plasti kote bright red (smooth). They are really nice, the Plasti Kote red was much nicer than the Hammerite stuff.
  12. If you have a bad lambda sensor or you remove it then the ECU will make the mixture rich to save the engine and it will run fine. Rich fuel mixtures resist detonation while lean ones do not, it's just a failsafe to protect the engine. I've just replaced a bad lambda sensor, it was very rich but running great. It's running even better now though with the new sensor and it's using less petrol.

  15. They aren't totally clear, there's an orange piece inside which isn't really desirable. You can break it away if you want without taking the thing to bits. Toyota part no's. Left indicator 81521-14390 Right indicator 81511-14390 Get these, I bought them - no problems at all. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/97-98-Toyota-Supra-Crystal-Clear-Bumper-Indicators_W0QQitemZ8002987173QQcategoryZ14763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Free Heater

Got me free Torch, they left it in the wheelie bin! Works fine. Thanks Michael
  17. The newer facelift cars don't have the digital odometer. Facelift cars started May 96. With regard to getting the car checked over, if knowone can suggest a local specialist then I would ask the AA as they do this sort of thing! It would be nice if a local Supra owner on here could go with you to look at the car. I wouldn't bother with Toyota at all, they aren't familiar with the car as they aren't very common. When you go to the local dealer to get parts you see everyone looking as if they haven't seen one in years.
  18. I thought it was easier, aren't there places that offer this service. There certainly are for other cars.
  19. We know! http://miami-gt.com/product_info.php/cPath/100_3_42/products_id/236?osCsid=93d951802637268ba23471ed17b69f1f
  20. If that one is worth 20k, I'll definately get 35k for mine. I've seen it , red fluffy dashboard , pointless TV's and stuff and J spec brakes! Describing it as a show car is just wrong!

    F1 - 2006

Yes, Williams. Cosworth definately have the experience. It's nearly always impossible to tell though with the new regulations and stuff. Hope it's a British team!
