  1. Anyone been in contact with Dusty at MVP this week? Sent an email on Tuesday and Wednesday and I'm still waiting for a reply. They're normally pretty quick at responding.

    what's up people!

Hi Any chance you can pop down to MVP and see if they're still there?
  3. Any updates on how the cat is?
  4. Haven't you forgotten something?
  5. The lower profile tyre won't flex as much. If you've just got the 285/35 tyres then I wouldn't feel like buying new ones straight away, think I would get the arches rolled.
  6. What's you're problem, you certainly do have one?
  7. Hope the cat is okay. Very fortunate that you were driving by.
  8. "Bravo Two Zero" , was very good! Only book I've read since leaving school twenty years ago.
  9. What an amazing and lovely dog!
  10. The energy level wouldn't be the same for both cases though. Only if the drag and rolling resistance/friction losses are zero which they aren't. If you have two identical cars they will have the same energy before they start braking, but the one who brakes late and maintains speed longer will carry this energy right into the braking zone. The one who brakes earlier will lose energy through drag/ rolling resistance and friction losses in the bearings way before the late braker applies his brakes. Like I said earlier you wouldn't have to use your brakes at all if didn't want to!
  11. Applying the brakes earlier will always give you less wear, because if you do this you're dissipating the energy anyway through rolling resisistance and drag - you haven't got you're foot on the accelerator. If you really wanted to you wouldn't have to use the brakes at all , just let it coast to a stop, then you would have zero brake wear. You wouldn't do this in practice but it does demonstrate that braking earlier will always give you less wear. It would be different if you were in a vaccuum and ignored rolling resistance/ bearing friction etc.
  12. It does . Definately worth checking the auxiliary drive belt. The standard Toyota one is shockingly expensive, the Gates one is cheaper.
  13. Maybe 8 grand at the most Facelift and manual gearbox are desirable.
  14. Peter Sutcliffe - The Yorkshire Ripper!
  15. Cleaned the wheels a little and put some black stuff on the tyres. Was going to connect the laptop to the RLTC . Hasn't got a bloody serial port on the laptop, need to get a USB adapter.
  16. I was going to say that aswell! Watched the superbikes on the tv a few years ago.
  17. Sounds nasty, accidents happen when you least expect them.
  18. Never heard that one before!
  19. I use to get this clonking sound aswell , I replaced the front stabilizer bar links and now it's gone.
  20. But according to that thing driving clip they show on the tv, it's much more dangerous to drive at 40 - stopping distances etc. If you're capable of driving at 40 without looking at the speedo you can certainly drive at 30 the same way, if you cannot then you shouldn't be on the road in the first place!
  21. According to the EPC it says Sept 97 , RZ and SZ-R models have REAS RZ-S and SZ don't have it.
  22. More than likely. Most of the time I just enjoy the acceleration , but last year I took it up to 160 leptons in one short burst on a very quiet road. I realised straight away how reckless it was, I felt really bad but it got me thinking. Never go above 100 leptons now, just a bit of acceleration up to that speed then slow down again. Never any sustained periods of high speed.
  23. If you don't already know, this is fitted to some Sept 97 and later cars. RZ and SZ-R models have REAS RZ-S and SZ don't have it. This is how it works, if you're interested - Click here
