  1. I'm not sure if anyone will commit themselves to saying it's okay to powder coat them. I did think about doing mine, I have a diy powder coating kit which is producing good results but I'm not going to risk coating them. I'm going to blast them (I've in the process of building my own sand blast cabinet) to remove the rust and rub down any imperfections and use a rust converter liquid on the rust, prime them and paint them with 2 pack yellow gloss (single stage -not a basecoat and lacquer like you would do most cars). I'm also going to do the wishbones and powder coat small brackets etc.
  2. Does anyone watch the F1 forum on the red button after the race, some good interviews?
  3. Why are Mclaren going to drop back even more, the Redbull car was designed completely around the off throttle blown exhaust right from the start? No one knows who's going to be effected the most, we'll have to wait for Silverstone to see.
  4. Get yourself a Corvette C5 Z06, my brother has one which I've driven a fair few times. The noise is fantastic!!!!! . 405 bhp, 5.7 litre V8, bullet proof engine with superb reliability. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2922955.htm
  5. I was going to give you my opinion on the tyres for those width wheels to closely match them to the stock dimensions but you really need to take into account of the wheel offset especially if you're going for a 9" wide front wheel.
  6. Good value considering delivery is free. Bosch S4 battery with 4 year guarantee for £47 delivered.
  7. Hopefully the Redbulls won't be as quick in qualfying from this weekend. With most of the teams usings the hot blown exhaust gases whilst off throttle to increase the down force, Redbull have thought to have been using a more extreme engine map in qualifying than in the race. From this weekend whatever you use in qualifying you have to start the race with. Redbull have been turning it down a little for the race because it uses more fuel and decreases engine life. From Silverstone the teams cannot use a hot blown exhaust at all, who know's who'll have the quickest car then!!! http://www.yallaf1.com/2011/06/21/fia-to-restrict-blown-exhaust-in-valencia/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Yallaf1com+%28YallaF1.com%29

    Ride quality

Just beat me to it. I've read before on hear that CW has used dampers/springs, the UK spec car has a softer ride. Might we worth sending him an email to ask his advice.
  9. Most people who want to leave a cat on the car remove the first one as it's more restrictive than the second.
  10. There's loads of stuff in the manual. http://www.turbosupras.com/pdfs/JZA80%20TSRM/DI.pdf If you're not familiar with Adobe Acrobat - move the mouse to the bottom so the toolbar appears, click on the far right option -"Show adobe Reader Toolbar", Click on the "binoculars" in the left toolbar, search for camshaft .
  11. Some on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEXUS-WORLDWIDE-ELECTRONIC-PARTS-CATALOG-/180643898773?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item2a0f372595 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOYOTA-LEXUS-EUROPE-PARTS-CATALOG-2011-EPC-/270737997950?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item3f093e007e
  12. Who? Nice bloke and very enthusiastic, I think he went on a little bit too long in the end.
  13. I'm seeing two views when you made this comment.
  14. I would use car polish and wax. Obviously different grades of polish depending on the condition of what you're using it on.
  15. In here somewhere I would think. http://www.turbosupras.com/pages/pages/technical/jza80/a80tsrm.htm
  16. Crank pulley bolt ---- 90119-18002 Front seal ---- 90311-46001
  17. They don't appear to ruin them like many UK owners do. Probably something to do with them costing more over in the US.
  18. There's only one nut, the shaft and wiper seat are tapered so they are a tight fit. Undo the nut, put the wiper in the position away from the screen (just like you do when you wash the car) , then get a hold of the arm near the base and jiggle it from side to side to break the seal.

    Isle of Man TT

One death that sticks in my mind is from 2005 when April Bolster - TT marshall - went to the aid of another rider who had mechanical problems, she was hit by Guss Scott on his 1000cc Honda, they both died. Her 19-year-old daughter Susan was marshalling at the crash scene and witnessed the entire tragedy. The race wasn't stopped. The coroner hit out at the 'chaos' which followed the accident, which saw an untrained man don a marshal's bib in an attempt to prevent further tragedy and three spectators step onto the course to drag Mr Scott's bike out of the path of oncoming racers. List of fatal accidents on the circuit if anyone is interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Snaefell_Mountain_Course_fatal_accidents#List_of_fatal_accidents_involving_spectators

    Cam Belt

    They aren't the same.
  21. The person I mentioned above (he supplies loads of Supra parts over in the US) says that the part number 90910 - 12126 doesn't exist so you are probably correct with your number as a lot of people he supplies parts to are buying 25860‑46060 , I cannot be 100% certain though.
  22. Yes. I can think of pros and cons for both types.
  23. One of the most important factors for me would be to use a spacer with a 60.1mm centre to fit the Supra. You would also want to make sure that the wheel is also located correctly on the correct size lip on the spacer, you may need to use a hub centric ring to match your wheels. Edit: I intially thought the first spacer didn't have a 60.1mm centre but it looks like both spacers do indeed have them. I would go for the first type with longer good quality studs.
