I've just had a continuous clicking sound from my computer case. It was fairly loud, it lasted about 5 seconds and stopped when I thumped the case but started again a few seconds later, the computer then froze so I had to restart it. It's definately not the fan. Is this likely to be the hard drive?

Don't worry too much, they'll have just been after some business. I don't think I've ever been under any car other than a newish one that hasn't had a little oil leaking.

I thought that at the moment you could only receive HD channels via Sky or Cable and you would need one of their HD boxes. I'm not sure about the horizontal/vertical stuff. http://www.avforums.com/ is good.

If you're after a "Full HD" one, this must mean you'll not be viewing HD channels via Sky or Cable? I thought there would only be a need for a tv with a built in HD tuner if you could receive a HD terrestial signal which you cannot at the moment.

Cobra alarms are known for good reliability. I fitted one on the van, no problems in almost 4 years.

I've just tried to upgrade the firmware and I get this message. The version of setting file is not compatible. What a load of crap! Time to give up I think . Thanks for everyones help, I'll tell my sister to get a Netgear

It doesn't work, it says to hold the reset button in for 10 seconds which I've done. Just no Wireless LAN led on the front which is a fairly basic fault, it should appear without any messing with the settings really.

I've tried doing the "soft" reset via the hole in the back without success. I might try the "hard" reset , don't know what else to do . I cannot understand why I can connect to the internet via cable and not through wireless, there aren't exactly many settings I could've got wrong. I've tried all the possible ways it could be configured. What a pain in the arse these things can be, not exactly user friendly ! Thanks

You also get a wear ridge appearing, ie the pad doesn't always cover the whole of the disc so there is an area on the disc that doesn't wear down. Sometimes new pads are larger than the old ones and rub up against this unworn area on the disc resulting in a squeal.

I was just looking at the fault finding section. It say's WEP should be disabled, I can enable this later when I get an internet connection. Also, the SSID I can change when I get an internet connection. The router just doesn't appear to be broadcasting any wireless signal!

I haven't got a clue what a "key" is? I thought any SSID would do, when searching for available networks on the laptop I would just have to choose the the correct one? edit, the key appears if WEP is enabled. Is this necessary?

My sister's just bought a new router, D-Link DI-624M. I can get a couple of PC's working which are connected by cable to the router. But I cannot get the Wireless LAN for the laptop functioning at all, there's a small "WLAN" led on the front of the router which isn't illuminating, it should flash during data transmition. When I search for available networks on the router there isn't one from the new router, just those from the neighbours. Here's a pic of the settings on the router: Any help please?
