  1. "6-pot brakes. A big improvement over the 4-pot design found on it's predecessors" Hehe:) At least he knows they're the larger ones.
  2. Yes, but why remove something that was designed to protect the passenger? Could you live with yourself if the unimaginable happened and you had a bad accident? Madness really.
  3. Some of the widest I've seen are on Supraforums, their search function has gone again though. One bloke had at least 315's on the front!
  4. One rider and two spectators! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/isle_of_man/6735511.stm
  5. I would have a word with Trading Standards, but it might be difficult proving that they said they had replaced the clutch. You'll at least get the right advice from them.
  6. Exactly , the consequences of having an accident and a passenger being hurt are frightening. Something I would never do, what about your insurance?
  7. Poor fella! I desperately hope he's okay.
  8. Here's a discussion on the Auto/Manual choice. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=10489
  9. Hello and welcome There's a lovely UK car for sale on here, click on the advertisers username and have a look in his garage. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=113532

I've heard many people on here not recommending this for an obvious reason!

Hello and welcome The TT cars are very reliable, try and get one that's standard engine wise and then you'll have more confidence in it's reliability and know it hasn't been abused too much. Even when you do a few mods to increase the boost to achieve more power you'll still have great reliability
  12. The workshop manual also specifies "ethylene glycol based antifreeze". All good car accessory shops will sell the stuff. Mix it with de-ionised water.
  13. The pics were well worth waiting for. It's so nice to see a car that hasn't been messed with. Lovely condition!
  14. This is from the workshop manual, I'm assuming it's the same for J spec and UK spec. 25 ft.lbf , 34Nm Then tighten them all through 90 degrees Tighten them an additional 90 degrees The manual suggests putting a drop of paint on each bolt head pointing to the front of the engine, .........12..8..4...2..5..9..13 Front .........14..10..6..1..3..7..11
  15. LOL Hopefully they'll put the TT on again at a more appropriate time, I've been forgetting to watch it all week.
  16. Too many good things on at the same time. I'm watching The Apprentice and taping the Princess Diana thing.
  17. Definitely a desirable car , it does sound nice.
  18. I was just going to paste the link until I saw his first post. He could well have been joking , but I don't think it's the correct way of entering any forum.
  19. Not a very good first post!
  20. Bet you can't wait to pick it up. Drive safely, caught me out a couple of times when I was taking it easy.
  21. If you look at this , the sensor for the auto VVTI isn't listed (post 09/97) TWT is the TT TWC is the NA car
  22. I don't make much use of the rev counter . It's easy to judge if it's idling correctly and I always listen to the engine note when driving so I know when it's time to change gear. Surely just taking it off and putting it back on when idling to get it approximately right will be good enough.
  23. Stock sizes are in bold Front 235/45 17 = 643mm dia 245/35 19 = 654mm dia 245/40 19 = 679mm dia Rear 255/40 17 = 636mm dia 275/30 19 = 648mm dia 275/35 19 = 675mm dia You might have clearance issues with the larger sidewall tyres. I wouldn't recommend getting 19's if you need to go up kerbs , unless you make some wooden ramps.
  24. Are you worried that if you get tyres with a lower wall height they'll give less protection for the wheels when you encounter kerbs etc? Edit. I've just read why you need them !
