    800 quote

I can't understand some of you saying they're not worth 800 . Aren't Work alloys supposed to be really good quality and the tyres have loads of tread left too.
  2. Hello Be careful over there if you're doing anything dangerous. I'm sitting at home trying to decide on what to have for my dinner.
  3. Difficult to confirm without looking at it, it does look close though. Tell them it wasn't knocking when you took the car in and now it is, tell them you've had a look and it is hitting something.

    warranty on tires

When I bought my car there were splits on the inside sidewall of both front tyres. They were about 50% worn , I contacted the manufacturer and sent them a few photo's . I was told to go to my local supplier and get new ones fitted which I had to pay for, they would send the tyres to the manufacturer with the correct paperwork. After the manufacturer inspected the tyres they reinbursed the supplier 50% of the cost price which they eventually passed onto me. They didn't even ask what width wheels I was using, stupid really as I later realised after measuring them that the tyres were too wide for the wheel and this had obviously caused the sidewals to split.
  5. If your car is unmodified you could buy all the service parts from Toyota. The consensus on here is that the stock filter is best, induction kits don't give you the same levels of filtration. Do a search for Chris Wilson on here, he lives in north Shropshire. He's widely used for all sorts of work on members cars. Spark Plugs Lubricants The Toad ai606 is a Cat 1 alarm, very reliable.
  6. I've had mine for 10 months, it's kept in my back pocket and I'm in and out of the van all day. No problems at all.

Can I ask what size tyre and rim width have you have.
  8. Aren't these devices totally pointless? By the time it's detected a laser it will've already got you.
  9. That was short, was he called John Clayton, I forgot after 2 seconds?
  10. I used to think that Alonso was okay, not any more. I hope he crashes out tomorrow. I think he'll live to regret it, he'll also be disliked by a high proportion of F1 followers in the UK and he lives in Oxford too. I wouldn't be surprised if he's advised to make a formal appology.
  11. Don't waste money on a battery yet. If the car can start normally after an an attempt at starting when it just clicks - meaning that it can jump into life quickly with the starter motor turning the engine like normal , this suggests that the battery is working okay .
  12. I would say it's bad or corroded connections on the starter motor. One of these, Austin Princess?
  13. Reading threads like this on a friday night!
  14. Nothing really, I think some prefer the look with the shiny silver inside.

    dash rings

They say that in about 25 years the Chinese economy will overtake that of The United States. Their human and animal rights record is terrible and if I had a choice I wouldn't buy anything that was made there. Unfortunately a very high proportion of goods sold in the UK are made in China.
  16. Here's how to cheack the gearbox oil level. There are two levels, when hot and when cold. http://www.mkiv.com/manual/manualtt/general_maintenance/mo13.jpg
  17. I just use a plastic washing up bowl to catch the coolant. This may help. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/coolant_flush/index.html

    eezibleed kit

The cap bought from Toyota may well cost more than the eezibleed kit itself. Jezzybabes will probably have a few spare.
  19. There's 3 types you can get Uk spec, J spec and J spec facelift. Are you after the J spec facelift (these are black on the inside) ones that are suitable for use in the UK. If so , I think Nic on here can give you the best deal.
  20. From the manual: If the master cylinder has been disassembled or if the reservoir becomes empty, bleed the air from the master cylinder. (a) Disconnect the brake lines from the master cylinder. (b) Slowly depress the brake pedal and hold it. © Block off the outer holes with your fingers, and release the brake pedal. (d) Repeat (b) and © 3 or 4 times.
  21. What a sense of relief it must've been when they went straight past, there's nothing like seeing the blue lights in the mirror.
  22. You must've got some serious training done before you went over there. Hope you don't end up like Robert Millar!
