I'm fitting a boost gauge and need to locate the correct air line to splice into and fit a 'T' piece. (FCD hasn't been done) Should I be fitting my 'T' piece into the line between 'a' and 'b' in this picture? All help appreciated

Can anyone shed some light on this please. I can't quite understand the link below: http://mkiv.com/techarticles/airbag_light/airbag.htm Does it mean alternate the plugs in the diagnostic box (ie pulling them in and out) or does it mean run a wire to the negative battery and alternate which wire running from AB & TC socket i touch to the negative batter terminal. I'm confused
