  1. I think the complaint is justified tbh. I use a wheelchair to get about and their is nothing more frustrating than vehicles on pavements blocking your path.

  3. That would be me Do you often park your car outside the Abbygate?
  4. I've found the supra the easiest car to date to live with. My last car didn't have an electric seat so it had a pretty much "fixed" position making it difficult to lift chair across your chest. My wheelchair is a sports chair with a folding back and fits easily into the back seat, with the wheels directly behind me. I find it easier to do this as the armrest/storage compartment is quite high which makes lifting the chair out the passenger side awkward. Just beware when parking in disabled parking bays though! It seems that many people find it hard to believe that a "disabled" person can drive a sportscar. I've had many people swearing at me and i was once informed that my blue badge must be a good fake

    Supra melting!!

Thanks for the replys guys!! Don't know where i would be without this place! Definately worth becoming a full member! Went out for a drive last night, no burning smells or smoke! lol Have looked at the wires behing the dash, they all seem to be ok as far as i can see. But for safety sake i'll get an auto electricain to double check once i've fitted an new dimmer switch. (hopefully form Supra TT Myster) Oh, does anyone know by chance if the odometer lights are connected to the dimmer switch? Just that when the headlights are off, the odometer back light is on but when i switch the headlights on the odometer back light goes off! This has been like this since i bought it.

    Supra melting!!

Not sure what's happening! Started the car with the lights off and held onto the metal part which connects onto the dimmer switch dial. There is no heat until I switch on the lights. After about a minute of holding on it gets unbearably hot. Have taken off the dashboard and removed the (melted) cream box that controls the dash light brightness. I’m now a little scared to go out for a drive because I’m paralysed and getting out the car quickly is not easy. Any advice from any electrical experts would be appreciated. Oh and does anyone have this item for sale? Thanks! Sorry i can't upload any pics...seems to be disabled:eek:
  10. Was driving home last night and noticed a faint burning smell. The smell disappeared after 5 mins or so. Was a bit worried at the time but thought nothing of it until i went out to the car this morning! Opening the door i noticed a small black object in the footwell. I believe the object is the dash light dimer dial, that is next to the ignition. The very worring thing is that it hasn't just fallen off. Its melted off! I'm going to attempt to take the dash off tonight to get a look...hopefully its just an isolated problem and not a tangled mess of melted wires. Has this happened to anyone else?
  11. Thanks Hamish! Wish i could do that! Oh the wheels are HIJOIN 18" http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/uploads/images_products/304.jpg
  12. Thanks for the responses! Not sure on the type of speed convertor/ speed limit defensor type but i phoned the importer today and they said it's a "cheap all in one" at around £130. There is a dearer option of £300. They've told me to bring it down, possibly engine management they said. Not convinced though as no warning lights are showing. I'm not "deffo" on whether it is a rev limit of fuel cut. How can i tell? Not sure if the cats are in place either. Will get someone to check this out promto! And yes the revs cut between 5800 and 7200 rpm. But this happens in all gears even neutral.
  13. Have had my supra now for 4 months with no major problems, with the better weather coming in i'm starting to use the car to it's potential! But i'm noticing that 1. The second turbo doesn't "kick in" now and again. When this happens i let off the throttle and try again and seems to work fine. 2. The revs limits to 5750 rpm sometimes. Have reset the ECU tonight but no joy...any ideas anyone? Thanks in advance Specs Jap import, Auto TT 94 Standard apart from Hks BOV and induction kit P.s sorry if its a bit vague...first technical post! Still learning
