OK just a mild rant to get things off my chest. Feel free to add to the list: 1 - drivers who slow down when they approach SPECS cameras, only to speed up again when they have passed 2 - the ones who happily sit in a traffic jam all afternoon, instead of using the bus lane which is totally empty and is clearly signposted as being in force only from 7am-10am 3 - middle lane hoggers (a national pastime) 4 - women

I won a welly throwing contest too. Yarm Junior School open day 1978 or thereabouts. I still have the Golden Welly that I won as a prize (a kids welly sprayed with gold paint mounted on a plaque)

You might even want to consider Staines, it's long past the Ali G association and not too bad a place actually, by the Thames too

TBH a commute along Uxbridge Rd will be stop start as there are a lot of lights and it's a busy area, you would be a lot better off going along the A40 if possible. As for Ealing, it's just a bit more upmarket than Uxbridge. It has a proper town centre, easy to get to A40 and M4, is on the Central & District lines (rail takes 6 mins to get to Paddington), it's leafy and has a wide range of properties from Victorian to modern, from the average to millionaires hide-aways. It's pretty well known as being a good area of West London to live without the expense of say Chiswick or Kensington.

Anyone? Need a camera sub £150 with usb connection... do they exist

OK I know it's old technology now but I have a lot of old mini dv tapes that I need to put onto my pc. The camera I have is busted so I need to get a new one just to make the transfer. As it is just for transfer to pc and not for filming I don't want to spend a lot of money, so £150 max is the budget. Problem is that I have just bought a JVC one from Amazon and sent it back because I could not get it to transfer via firewire. Now I am about to do the same with a Sony for the same reason. Can anyone recommend one sub £150 that will transfer with USB because firewire isn't working for me. THX

We were thinking of Uxbridge just a couple of weeks ago as we need somewhere bigger than what we have here in Ealing. So we drove around the place and were not impressed to put it bluntly. There are a few OK houses but the area itself isn't all that. The only thing going for it is that it is easy to get into London and onto the M25 ie easy to get out of there! So we're staying put in Ealing and finding another place round here.

ouch that's bad, I feel sorry cos that will take some time to fix, deal with insurance, new wheel etc etc. Could you knock on your neighbours doors and see if there are any witnesses? -
Boost gauges are mostly for show imo, the best thing is to take the reading off the boost controller. Nice being BPU tho isn't it?!

But what I want to know when the copper is asked what to do when faced with one of them is why he says 'leave them to us' I mean FFS what policeman has ever pulled over a driver for hogging the middle lane?! all motorists should watch this as part of their training

That is strange it is very easy to record vinyl to PC without having to buy a whole new turntable with a USB on it. All you need is a simple phono lead from the amp to the PC. There is tons of free software out there to edit and convert the wav to an mp3 or whatever. I do it all the time and I am a total spaz at computers

I don't see why 'Indian' can't be seen as a general term to cover all the languages spoken by those from India. Maybe you had best say 'They were speaking an Indian language' rather than just 'speaking Indian'
