  1. ZERO. That's what you get when you run your own company.
  2. Without wanting to sound impatient what's the latest with the server upload? Pete?
  3. There will be a big POP if one of those tyres gets a puncture
  4. I think they're hideous. But if that's what you like...
  5. But there was no crime committed, so what can the police do?
  6. I just arrived home from work and parked outside in the street as usual (not in Supra). A young, rough-looking woman came up to me with a pound coin and said 'I've lost my phone somewhere round here, can I give you a pound to borrow yours so I can call it and see if I can hear it ring or if someone answers'. She seemed very earnest and overly apologetic, just like a beggar or a crack head. Normally they just ask for money etc and I ignore them. But this was a new line so I decided to see where it led. I took my phone out of my pocket and she seemed very eager to take it. 'Oh no' I said, 'Tell me the number, I'll call it.' She looked disappointed and read out the number. I asked her name and she said 'Norma' or something. I called the number and a man answered. I said 'I have a girl here called Norma who has lost her phone. We're on Gordon Rd, come and meet her by the post box so she can get it back'. The man said OK and that was that. She went to wait by the post box, uttering all kinds of profuse thank yous, and I went into our house and just as a went inside I saw a van pull up by the post box. It's hard to think on your feet sometimes. But looking back it's quite clear now that she would have made off with my phone to the van waiting round the corner. If I had chased her I would have had to have dealt with the heavies in the van. I wonder what they will come up with next.
  7. Great find, very easy to use too! I've just put my missus on the cover of Vogue (that'll keep her happy)
  8. A hamster maybe, but this thing is huge!
  9. No the trap will arrive on Monday. I have put out a bowl with some bread and water to keep him happy over the weekend.
  10. I like it. Like the seller says it must be fun picking up the kids from school
  11. Thanks Doug but they will kill it, and I am a man of peace
  12. Yes the RSPCA told me that. So I will have to release it in the bushes under cover of darkness. (I'll make sure it is somewhere other than Hampstead Heath:Pling:)
  13. I just bought a humane trap. No way can I kill it. I only kill mossies and wasps.
  14. I have already had my bread eaten! I thought it must have been a giant mouse. Now I know!
  15. Looks like the Chinese officials are wholly ignorant of cholera and how to treat it. Quarantine won't do anything, if anything it will make things worse by keeping people in close proximity to each other. The disease is from a bacterium that is spread through bad hygeine. The first thing that should be done is to make sure sanitation is in order, especially the provision of clean water supplies and proper removal of waste/sewage. It still amazes me that such things can happen in China. The Olympics was a massive PR campaign to the rest of the world so show that China isn't all that bad - and like the suckers we are, it worked.

It only comes up in searches on .com if the user searches Worldwide. This requires an extra box to be ticked. Most Americans don't bother, they just search within the US. I know what I'm doing, I have been using ebay for almost 10 years now. This is a new rule - a flawed rule - that has just been introduced.

Listing some records on ebay US site (not UK) and for some stupid reason it will only allow me to charge $4 shipping to the US. Even if the goods come from the UK and it costs $$$ more! How crazy is that. Most of my customers are in the US, so I have to list my stuff on US ebay. Being Americans they tend not to know ebay exists in the UK too, or anywhere else in the world for that matter. Is there a way round it? I'm gonna write a letter of complaint to Obama, maybe he can help.
  18. Wrong! They are all things to do with cleverness. The programmer guys and mechanics etc are clever in their chosen field, just like I am 'clever' in mine. Cleverness IMO is being able to learn quickly, form an opinion and articulate that opinion - especially if it's on a subject you're not familiar with - which is something you do very well.
  19. I think Tannhauser is the cleverest person on this forum.
  20. Brilliant! Well done everyone, and Martyn I hope all goes well with everything!
  21. Thanks for all your good work Steve. Personally I will browse online, same as browsing a DVD if you ask me!
  22. I know there is a lot of money in printing I am one of the mugs that does a lot of print and I know the prices I have to pay!
