I'm with Tannhauser. To mock someone because of their disability and infer that they are an idiot due to that is nothing short of wrong, regardless of who they are. Clarkson should know better. Celebs like him are not normal people who can talk bo11ocks in the pub without fear of repercussions, what they say goes down on the written record and has influence on many, many people and their opinions. Once you're a celeb you have to watch what you say, end of.

I think it's because cars nowadays are so comfy that people literally are cut off from their surroundings and as such they don't feel the outside world - and in so doing are cut off from everything in it, other cars included.

I can see where the problem stems from. Americans do have an annoying habit of writing their monetary figures ambigously. For example, they can write 2 cents as $0.02 or 0.02 cents. To them it's 2 cents, but to everyone else - who knows?

Whenever they call about anomalies like this it is always good practice to call your bank or card issuer on a number you know to call them on - after all they could be anyone (and often are). Has happened to me 2 or 3 times these past few years

Yes I've put it into N before while overtaking. It was almost a brown trouser moment, but I got away with it. If I had shifted into R god knows what would have happened.

The owners manual says 'Do NOT put into reverse when driving forward' which suggests to me that it's possible, but not advisable. It doesn't say what will happen though!

Not that I am one to try these things, for obvious reasons, but what happens if I accidentally: 1 - put it into reverse while driving forward as normal 2 - put it into 1st gear at high speed Just curious like. Proper answers please.

I was always told to obey The Law when it comes to driving and apart from the odd bit of speeding I usually do If you lot didn't know already, Doug (Class One) is a policeman (albeit a pencil pushing one ) and if he says he can't recommend it enough then that's good enough for me.

I just got a notice in from Abbey bank saying that the interest they are paying my company reserve account is now 0.1%. Incredible, but true. It used to be 4% just a year ago, and that paid a few hundred quid a year. Anyone have any ideas where to put £10k that's safe and needs easy & quick access should I require it?
