    Bit fed up

Just spent £71 filling up the supra. This weekend I have a 500 mile round trip to Plymouth which will cost about £140 in fuel alone. I was looking forward to the trip when I suddenly thought well fook me that's a lot of cash. I can get a train there and back for less than £50 and sit back, read the paper and arrive in comfort, without the hassle of traffic jams and road works and the worry of speed cameras and police cars. Driving the Supra just does not seem to make sense. Not on this occasion anyway.
  2. In August when everyone is on holiday it takes about 20 mins. Now Sept is upon us and the road clog up again it's double that time. It really does make that much difference.
  3. Sounds like you had a great day! Happy Bday!
  4. I have the same problem and went to a watch repair shop and he said no chance. They tend to do mechanical and electrical repairs, not polishing. He recommended that I go to an opticians.
  5. Words of warning to everyone else. Sorry to hear of your misfortune, let's hope you get another one soon!
  6. Does not matter Blackie. My question is still relevant.
  7. Why would anyone in their right mind want to watch human suffering as a means of entertainment?
  8. I'm top! Woo hoo! But how long will it last?!?!!?
  9. OK will give you a pm next time, got a few gigs these next few weekends but should be ok once they're out of the way. We'll catch up and you can tell me what you're doing on my manor!
  10. Yes I saw em get stuffed 2-0 by Ipswich pre-season! Always up for a game if I am allowed out by the boss (the missus)
  11. Not if you have O'Shea as captain of your fantasy team (but I did have Defoe playing to make up for it )
  12. No difference in handling unless it's silly speeds, but it does look better (arguably)
  13. In defence of royal mail, I have run a worldwide mail order business for about 20 years now, and I can confidently say that 99.9% of letters/packages that we send arrive at their destination intact. That's a pretty good record for any business, unless of course if you're part of the 0.1% (that's you Guigsy)
  14. They won't do anything unless it was sent with insurance. Sorry but that's [FACT]
  15. In my 40 years I have never seen one nor had use for one but I need one now as we are employing someone who is not a 'mate' so needs must. As usual I am too tight to pay for one off the net so can anyone please provide me with one, just generic Word Doc will be fine which I will be able to adjust to my needs. THX
  16. Mike, the likes of you and I may not be taken in by articles of this nature, but there are plenty of dimwits out there waiting for stuff like this to add to their prejudice that scientists are Frankenstein-like boffins up to no good in their secret laboratories, 'meddling with things they don't understand' and being a danger to society. Stuff like that really gets on my tits. And I only had 4 hours sleep last night so I am grumpy.
  17. Another silly story making scientists look like fools. Read this thread.
  18. Got to be Allison Stokke http://www.giftsandfreeadvice.com/free_advice/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/allison_stokke-350.jpg http://www.xxx-olympic-games.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/allison_stokke.jpg
  19. Yes we do a lot like 1 or 2 bagfuls a day, 90% are boxes and packets, many of which go overseas. The royal mail systems you suggested isn't really appropriate, and the one they do have that works is longwinded and time consuming!
  20. First of all they charge 40 odd quid for a simple ink cartridge for their machines, then they charge 9 quid post to send them (actual postage cost 72p). WHAT A RIP OFF. Next time I assess options for our postage system (I have a mail order business) I will not be considering using Pitney Bowes. Thank you for listening.

Anybody any idea who has the number plate W4TCH on their Bentley? Also saw W1SER recently, also on a Bentley
  22. There is a guide on how to do it here
  23. Sorry sir. Will try harder next time, sir.
