  2. hey this thread was meant to be about auto/manual fuel consumption, not the old manual-good/auto-bad etc debate which has been done countless times
  3. The irony here is that if the German government imposed a speed limit on the autobahns, there would be an outcry and they would soon be booted out of power. If the UK got RID of the speed limit so we have German style autobahns, there would also be an outcry, and they would be booted out of power!
  4. I bet he wishes he was in Italy: caught at 193mph
  5. Terminator I have checked your garage many times and I KNOW what you are running :d I always thought 270 miles to a tank was v.bad compared to the claims of so many others on this forum
  6. That is one of the best Supras you can get, period. Shame you have to sell it, but you know that. Fingers crossed you can get it back again cos those things are v. rare
  7. Easy does it... MPG isn't a big concern, despite me getting only 270 miles from a tank of V-Power, just a quick q' that's all. Anyway unless you're some kind of superhero, auto boxes shift faster than manual, we KNOW that
  8. You mean you manual drivers actually use 6th gear when doing less than a 100?
  9. Funny you should say that. I am about to change from Natwest AFTER 20 YEARS to go with Abbey. I worked out that I will be £1500 A YEAR better off with Abbey
  10. Some wise words for us all: -instead of self-interest, think of justice. -the virtuous does not worry about things beyond his control. -the virtuous loves virtue; the inferior man loves material things. the virtuous seeks justice; the inferior man seeks personal favors -the virtuous sees the strengths of others, not their weaknesses. -the virtuous lives in harmony with others, but he does not follow the crowd. -the virtuous is sure of himself but not arrogant. the inferior man is both arrogant and lacking self-confidence. -the virtuous understands principle. the inferior man understands profit. -the virtuous remains steady in times of crisis. the inferior man crumbles. -the inferior man always denies his mistakes. -if a person is not honest and trustworthy, what good is he? -if you choose to live where there is no virtue, how can you become wise? -if you strive for virtue, you will be free of evil. -if you place responsibility over success, won't your virtue increase? if you work on your own evil rather than critizicing the evil of others, won't you overcome evil? if, out of a fit of anger, you endanger your own life as well as the lives of your parents, isn't that a case of delusion? -speak with sincerity and honesty, be humble and respectful, and you will get along even if you live among barbarians. if someone speaks insincerely and dishonestly, and if he is not humble and respectful, then he will have trouble even among his own people. -if you govern with laws and punishments, the people will avoid crime but will have no sense of honor or shame. if you govern by means of virtue and the rules of proper conduct (property), the people will have a sense of shame and will want to do what is right. -if you know what is right and don't do it, you are a coward. -DON'T DO TO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT DONE TO YOU. -to say that you know when you do know and to admit that you don't know when you don't. this is the path of knowledge. -speaking without mistakes and acting without regrets: that is true advancement. -if your words are grand, you will find that it is difficult for your actions to measure up to them. -ancient warlords were valiant; the warlords of today are just hot-headed. -if you concentrate on small gains, you will never achieve anything great. -he who is strict with himself will rarely go wrong. -to be poor without resentment is difficult. to be rich without arrogance is easy. -expect much from yourself and little fron others, and you will avoid arousing resentments. -I AM NOT CONCERNED ABOUT LACK OF SUCCESS; I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE MEANS I USE TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS. -wealth and honors obtained unjustly are but floating clouds.
  11. For that money it will be an N/A no question. But do not discount the auto so easily!!!
  12. It can't be anything BUT a quiet road to do those kind of speeds. Anyway, we've all been there, well maybe not 170, but 120, 130, 140, 150 what's the difference
  13. OK not the usual question which is faster, better etc etc but WHY is it that manual cars have better MPG than autos? I haven't a clue
  14. you haven't blown your new turbo have you emin?
  15. Nice work, lucky I have a good imagination
  16. or here (3rd down) antenna

    New phones??

I have exactly the same situation with you, I am sticking with the V3 which i have had for 2 or 3 years now. I have no idea why people continually upgrade their phones, and spend ages transferring pictures and data over, personalising them (again) and learning how to use them etc. What is the point?
  18. I'd be interested. Why not make a voting thread to guage interest, and see if it is worth doing a group buy
  19. I like it and if it had the power of a supra I would consider getting one if or when my supra goes
  20. Sunday is the best day for supra driving
  21. Not what you'd want to hear from a car salesman! You'll be saying things with an honest look on your face like 'Oh, I'm sure it only had 36,000 miles on the clock... maybe a ghost has been out for a ride' or 'No that's not a dent, it's just an apparition' and wondering why you aren't selling nowt
  22. Hogmaw is a Pennsylvania Dutch dish. In the Pennsylvania Dutch dialect, it is known as "Seimaaga." It is made from a cleaned pig's stomach traditionally stuffed with cubed potatoes, and loose pork sausage. Other ingredients may include cabbage, onions, or spices. It was traditionally boiled in a large pot covered in water, not unlike Scottish Haggis. But, it can also be baked or broiled until browned or split, when it is drizzled with butter before serving. It is usually served hot on a platter cut into slices or cold as a sandwich. Often served in the winter, it was made on hog butchering days on the farms of Lancaster and Berks Counties and elsewhere in the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. It's also the name of a blues band in the USA
