He is not there JUST because he is black, more to the point it's pointing out to people that there ARE black policemen, just as there are other successful black people in our society. If you talk to a young black teenager on some rough estate, and show him a black policeman, then you show him that police aren't all white and racist. Then he will have more faith in the police and justice system. If he thinks ALL police are white, then he will lose all hope, and you have a problem teenager on your hands.

Eh? How did you work that out? By pointing out that we have black police officers shows to ALL people that the police are not a bunch of racist white bullies who pick on black people, because it shows that we have members of the police that are black! If we did have an all-white police force, what message to black people does that put out? Think about it. Yes and by being positive MAKES a level playing field. Minorities, especially young black kids, need role models to aspire to. Not just footballers and rappers, but principle members of our society, and by that I mean people like doctors, lawyers, teachers, MPs - and police.

You are correct - kind of - road tax is there to 'stop' us using the road, not to make it better! Whatever we do that makes life 'better off' for us, the government will tax it. Whether it is income tax, VAT, fuel, gambling, beer - you name it, if someone invents something or does something that people want, the government will want a piece of it too - by taxing it.

Road tax isn't gathered so the money can be spent on roads, just like the tax gathered on beer and fags isn't spent on making beer and fags.

Of course there aren't any 'white' police groups, they're in the majority! They don't need a special group to represent themselves, because there are enough of them already. If we have -ve discrimination, which we do ie racism etc, then we need +ve discrimination to counterbalance it and put things back to something resembling a level playing field.

Having black policemen and specifically portraying them as such shows people - especially black people who fear persecution or have suffered at the hands of the police - that the police are not 'all white' and therefore engenders confidence within black areas of our society who otherwise may just assume (wrongly) that all police are racist white bullies. Let's face it, would black people in this country trust the police if they were ALL white? No, so you have to go out there and make a point that some of them are black.

Contrary to the above post, I use my adjuster each time I go out, usually soft for getting out from where I live (town) and medium-hard when I reach the motorway or dual carriageway. Adjuster is on driver side of the centre console, next to where the seat belt goes in. I'll post a pic tomorrow
