Precisely the reason I don't have one
-
Have you considered Mercedes AMG E63 or C63 Big V8 engine choices, E63 is biturbo Both are affordable these days too
-
The V8 itself will be fine, it's solid, but you might find other things giving problems, unlike the Supra which is pretty solid all over. Regarding running costs, the tax for my B7 RS4 is £500 which is way more than the Supra. Fuel economy is about the same, about 220-240 miles on a tank of 98ron. It's the modding costs with the Supra that get you. There are so many mods you can do, and they can easily add up to tens of thousands if you want to go that way and it's always a temptation. There's hardly any mods you can do with the Audi, unless you want to supercharge it, so it does sort of save you money in that sense.

Drifting experience is pretty good there, no speed restrictions, plenty of space, ample time

I send about 10,000 items per year with Royal Mail, of these about 1 or perhaps 2 is lost forever, and they're usually to a foreign destination. That's a 0.01% loss rate. Compare that to couriers and their 1% loss rate = Royal Mail is 1000x better. I speak from experience, although the couriers I mention are Hermes and Yodel. Do not use these companies!!! If you need a courier, use a proper one like Fedex, UPS, TNT etc Remember Royal Mail is a British company, would you really want it to 'die' and allow the foreign-owned couriers to flourish?

New Diesel & Petrol Vehicles To Be Banned From 2040 In The UK
hogmaw replied to Frank Bullitt's topic in Off Topic
Hydrogen is acquired by electrolysis ie electricity - so why not miss out the hydrogen step altogether and use a battery? Diesel engines can be easily converted to run on liquid methanol. You get methanol from natural gas of which there is LOTS. Include an additive to the methanol - which is readily available - and there you have it, low emissions 'diesel' engine. It's already being used https://www.avocetinfiniteplc.com/fuel-avocet-additive -
Please let this happen! There are far more less damaging ways of calming traffic

I wish. Service & repair costs on RS4 are high - on an RS6 they they through the roof!
-
Yeh but that won't be an RS4 though? R8 perhaps?
-
Just got 423ps (about 419bhp) from the remap, but I have to go to 7500rpm to get it It was just 353 before
-
Mileage is 70k. At that age the car is probably only running 380bhp or so without the carbon clean, so I'm expecting it to get back to stock when it's done. The stage 2 map isn't for power gain its to make it use the power better. I'll post some pics when I get a moment, I actually like the shape of the car but supra does look miles better that can't be denied !

Just a quick comparison in case anyone else is thinking of an RS4. FWIW I have the B7 Avant, it's a 4.2L V8, no turbos but they can be supercharged to 600+bhp. First of all, it's not easy to compare the Supra and RS4 as they're not like for like. They're both fast, but in different ways. In a nutshell, the Supra is aggressive, noisy and exciting - the RS4 is more refined, modern and smooth. As I'm getting on a bit now (50 next year) and have a young family the RS4 ticks more boxes. It's also better for the bumpy country roads that are round where I live, the Supra is better for motorways, dual carriageways and fast roads. I much prefer the sound of the V8, I always thought the sound of the Supra was just 'noise' which I didn't really care for. RS4 power delivery is a straight line, yes it's fast but not in an exciting way like the Supra and its turbos. RS4 handling is way better, it has 4WD and bumps in the road are hardly noticeable. I can also put stuff in the boot and kids in the back. RS4 doesn't look all that, let's face it, it's a clumpy estate car albeit not as bad as a Volvo. Supra looks awesome and you're sat low down with that wraparound dash. As far as mods are concerned there's not a lot you can do with an RS4, I'm getting a Stage 2 map next week and a carbon clean which should bring 430-450bhp. After that it's a massive leap for a supercharger (about £12k). So the Supra wins hands down for mods both engine and cosmetic.

Original UK owners manual, 160+ pages, good condition, £25 delivered UK next day
-
Maybe so but who am I to argue, all bought and paid for
-
I did recommend that he sign up. Apparently Supras in Spain are worth almost double what they are over here. He says it will cost about £5000 just to register it
-
End of an era for me. Off it goes to a new home in Spain.

Now up on Pistonheads @ £17k Passed MOT last week with no advisories
-
OK I reduced the price! Much rather sell to someone on here!
-
OK still for sale - taking offers - if not gone in a couple of weeks I'll put it up on Pistonheads etc
-
There are way too many diesel cars about for them to be outlawed just yet. Same as if you have a car from 1906 or whatever - if it exists, you can drive it.
-
Such as? Let me know if I've missed something.
-
Possibly - I'm out in the Supra today while we have this nice weather and yes it will be hard to beat!

Price reduction! I bought this car in 2004 and have taken great care of it and enjoyed it ever since. It was completely stock when I bought it, and the original importer only had it a few months before selling to me, so I'm the 2nd UK owner and I have all receipts & invoices since. The car has been fully serviced regularly once or twice a year by the Supra experts at Phoenix/Whifbitz/SRD, and every recommendation or advice has been attended to, including extras or non-essential maintenance. In short, no expense has been spared in looking after this car and it has been maintained regardless of cost. As I've had the car so long I can answer all questions regarding its history. I much prefer to sell to someone in the club, I've enjoyed the car immensely and have spent a lot of time and money on it - I want to see it appreciated and looked after the same way I've done myself. Reason for sale - 13 years is a long time to own a car, time for a change, that's it! Still, it's hard to let it go. I'll list it for sale here for a few weeks, if no bites then I'll advertise elsewhere. Thanks for looking [GRIN][/GRIN] Specs as per below, more pics in my garage: Mileage: 162k - some of that was in Japan so real mileage is closer to 140k which I can verify.
