  1. Leven bypass is ok. We have a small job or two to do on the car in the morning. If we don't make it to the bypass in time we will catch up later I have Simons mobile number I will give him a ring.
  2. Do you sill want to meet at John Bull Rock or up at Runswarp? Iam ok with any.
  3. Car is back on the road so I will be there. Carnaby would be ok for me.
  4. Not maped for mods just done so no big boost utill its been to Thor Tuesday next week, just a steady run.
  5. My car should be on the road this week end if so a run to Whitby would be good. Should know by Fiday.
  6. Just had a call from a local guy done a deal on the intercooler, sorry guys.
  7. We ran the car up to 568 hup hp on thor's dyno @ 1.5 bar did not go more due to cdi problem and misfire. Air inlet temp and flow fine @ this level. Once cdi was sorted it must have been making much more @1.5 bar we ran this boost for 3000 miles no problems. In a hot country it may be more of a problem.
  8. I have fitted a new intercooler to support up to 1000 hp. The Type S was running 600 ish Hp no problem It is in good condition polished, a few bent fins as usual. With mountings but no pipes.
  9. Should be good raby is a nice setting. My car is booked in at thor in 2 weeks for full power map. Just finishing off jobs bigger intercooler, full carbon wing and some minor paint.
  10. May be worth checking the inlet cam cover breather, it has a one way valve in it to prevent boost pressure entering the crank case. If this is sticking it may allow presure into the crank case.
  11. You can add my 1998 VVTI 6 speed manual to the list.
  12. I have a 1998 VVTi six speed manual, single turbo conversion fully uprated. 469 hub hp @ 1 bar, should make 700+ at full boost.
  13. Well done guys, should have my car fully maped soon looking for 700s hub hp.
  14. I would be happy to go, we should have upgrades to the car finished in May and back on the road at last.
  15. Yes I use AEM. Rev limit set at 8500, the turbo runs out of puff at 8000 so this is the time to change up, if you take it to 8000 there is on lag as you change up. I have a HKS 264 VVTi cam we will at some point fit this and have it maped, it will be good to make comparisons.
  16. The motor has had a full rebuild with bearings, rods, pistons, gaskets, head work, valve springs and retainers cams, the full job.
  17. I run 272 cams in my car I am amazed at how well the car runns in all conditions from town drivig to 8000 + rpm. Power starts to build from 4000 rpm. Power below 4000 is more than adequate for every day driving.
  18. 6 pots weigh only a frction of std brakes and much more stop from high speed. VVTI front brakes are very heavy. I will post some up to date pictures when car is back on road.
  19. I find the seats good but my sone gets back ache if he drives long distance, so I think they are ok if they fit you. The improvement in performance and handling is hard to say. Prior to mods car had 360 hub hp, after it had 600 ish hub hp. The car is as fast through 5th as it was through 3rd. we have uprated suspension and grip as these where limiting the car. we will have it fully maped when it goes back on the road this spring.
  20. We did think about all of that but decided to create a fast road/race car not an all out race car. We will at some point make a carbon tail gate and may also make some carbon doors, if we do the doors we would make them to take std windows and motors, we don't want to strip the car out we are trying to take a fine line between performance and usability.
  21. Weight reduction mods: removed rear seats, replaced front seats with Sparco carbon fiber, removed tool kit and spear, panneled out rear and relocated gell battery to boot + wsher tank, light weight trial bonnet, alloy KAD 6 pot brakes. Single turbo coversion with virtual works manifold, removed any parts no longer required: exhaust bits, tow eyes, air bags seat belt reals, replaced with full harness belts.
  22. My 98 VVTI 6 speed manual wade in at 1460 kg after some mods, so you can get it down from stock.
