  1. You wont notice that much difference between 500 and 700 in the low gears it is as you go into the higher gears the car just pulls harder and harder as there is more resistance the more the turbo works. The power starts to come in at 5000 about 300hp by 6000 its making 750hp it flys between 6000 and 8000 up to 850hp. You need a high rev limit for it to work rev limiter is at 8500 but could go to 9000. with a six speed manual the fact that the power comes in at 5000 only matters in 1st once its in its power band there is no lag you need to learn to drive it so that you know what gear you need to be in at the road speed. I always amazed at how much power a supra can put down on a dry road once its into second. The rate of acceleration is mind blowing at high speed. The car is capable of phenominal speed you can hit 160 down B roads 180 on an A road. The temptation is to use the power on the road its hard not to so for that reason you cant enjoy the car on the road it really is too fast you will kill your self or end up with no licence or locked up. People say that big turbo supras are not fast on the road due to lag. Try driving one with 7000hp big brakes sorted transmission and suspension and then tell me its not fast 1460 kg and 700hp gives you the same power to weight ratio as a veyron.
  2. Defi link: EGT, WATER TEMP, OIL PRESSURE, BOOST, AEM WIDEBAND AFR. OIL TEMP needs fitting.
  3. Frusrating day we had not used the race map until that day, the car was much slower than on the road map. Went on the dyno and it was well down on power and the curve was allover. We did 179 on the 1 mile run. Thanks to Andy and Ash for their help in trying to sort it, the power run on Sunday and the original at Thor are intresting, at 5250 rpm it makes about 100 hp more than it did at THor but then it all goes wrong. By 6000 at Thor it made 750 on Sunday 540, it struggled on to 720 @ 8500 rpm. Any way its a learning curve, glad to see others had a good day well done Robbie on the 1/4.
  4. Last time it was on the dyno 850 @the hubs.
  5. I think we will put the race fuel in before we get there.
  6. Hi Gaz we only have a 72 mm turbo so its more of a challenge, we have never run the race map and car at full power so it hard to say. Adam thinks it will but I know its asking a lot form the spec.
  7. Karl went of with your pum did not need race fuel more than enough power on the road map for wet track, will brig it to TOTB. Adam got to 190 well before the line but aquaplaned had oposit lock on @190 so backed off and crossed the line @ 179.8. Usefull to know the limit of R88s is 180 in the wet on our car. We were looking forward to having a go against the porch be he went when it rained he had track day tyres on more slik than the R88s. We feel that on a dry track the car can top 200 in one mile. I think there is another top speed day at the end of september, hope you have your cae de limited and bpu by then and we get a dry day.
  8. If its a dry day we will be there, any idea of the distance? If its 1.25 miles will use road map as it should be at red line in 6th over that distance any way.
  9. Autronic direct fire CDI, top class CDI. (will not work with AEM ecu) so no use to us.
  10. Gaz I may need a pair of 295/30/18s before TOTB would help if TOYO will give discount. Is any one going to the top speed day at Elvington this Sunday?
  11. I paid £312 for a pair of 295/30/18s for the rear just checked Camskill website these are now 195.69 each inc vat. We have 255/35/18 on the front these are now 175.74. 17s may be less.
  12. We are using TOYO R888s they gave better grip at Elvington than at POD, did a better time at Elvington on a damp track than at POD on a dry surface. Don't know if they are as good as the drag radials on the 1/4 but should be spot on for the 1 mile and handling.
  13. Yes we fitted a one pice chrome moly prop shaft, we have now adjusted the rear suspesion to give more straight line grip rather than high speed cornering. Sill working on mods to the trasmision and mangement systems to make the car more competative at TOTB.
  14. We are getting the car ready for the 8th of July top speed day. I hope they run the one mile distance as TOTB it will be a good test day if it is dry. Did a static test on the car it made 112db so need to make a baffle to reduce it to 103.
  15. Yes it's my real name the entry went in some weeks ago in Adam Sherwoods name as he will be driving.
  16. Thanks karl we have a lot of work to do over the next few weeks it should be much better by totb.
  17. Had a go at Elvington tody usefull testing session managed 11.82 @ 130 on a damp track.
  18. Very good we run 1.7 bar on BP ultimate so you should be ok @ 1.6.
  19. Hope you get it sorted, we thought about a PHR stage 3 but decided to stick with ours for now and work on traction.
  20. I will drop in its not far, nice to have a meet just down the road.
  21. Tein Basic coillover suspension height adjustable basic kit ready to fit inc top mounts.
