  1. Lets see the pics of the Skyline then
  2. Me too, I can't believe it! It all happens so quickly on here these days
  3. Whatever you think of McDonalds, its just good manners to clear up after you've finished your "meal" I wouldn't dream of leaving any of the rubbish on the table. But then again I wouldn't dream of chucking the takeway debris in someone's garden, but every bastard seems to do it in mine

    BPU-ish

Even on stock twins? I must admit I was of the opinion that it wasn't the fact that the wastegate was opening, that was preventing full boost in the lower gears. Surely an EBC only controls the maximum level of boost, not the rate at which it builds up. I'm not trying to start an argument here Nic, I'm just thinking aloud. Hell, I may learn something

Carl You're unlikely to see 17.5psi in first (and possibly second) gear whatever you do .
  6. Theres some in my garage Tom Obviously the quality is reduced somewhat If you want the originals to play around with, I'm happy to send them to you via email, but bear in mind that the RAW files from the 5D are BIG
  7. Hmm, I've always found Canon auto focus to be pretty good. It certainly was on the 10D I've just sold, and is great on my new 5D. Are you taking advantage of being able to choose the most appropriate auto focus point for the subject?
  8. I usually Waxoyl the underside of mine once a year. I agree not to get it on the exhaust. You also want to avoid the brake disks for obvious reasons. Other than that, spray away
  9. Nice camera Gaz What lense(s) did you get with it? This site is pretty good for tutorials and general advice etc. http://www.ephotozine.com/forum/viewquestions.cfm?catid=20 Have fun taking photos. Try and "obtain" a copy of Photoshop if you haven't got one, its great for processing your images. A PM my way could get you an evaluation copy of V7
  10. Damn good work, but TBH only what I'd expect from them. I've seen their work before and always been impressed. Vinnie is a great bloke, give him a ring. His prices are sensible.
  11. Realistically, it all depends on what, and how much stuff you are selling. If like most of us you sell a diverse range of secondhand goods in a fairly limited quantity, then its no problem. (ie your own possessions) However, if you're selling new goods, lots of similar items, and a large quantity of them, then the Inland Revenue would be interested in you. Basically its all about common sense. If its a business and you're making money from it, in the long term it's better to declare your earnings and pay the tax on it. Everything on eBay is documented, so how people think they can escape paying tax, long term, amazes me.
  12. Yeah, but you ought to see the speed of the wipers
  13. The Griffith is a great car, fast, brutal power delivery, twitchy, awesome sound, convertible. Its brilliant as a fun car. If I could only keep one, it would be the Supra, no question. Its just so much more versatile. It's nearly as quick as the Griff, and you can take it out in the rain and get traction, unless you drive like a loon Coupled with that, I expect the Supra to start, I think the Griff will, and so far it's never let me down, but I'd never be too surprised if it didn't one day. I suppose for every hour I spend working on the Supra, I must spend 3 or 4 on the Griff. I don't mind, its what I expected, but I wouldn't want to have to do it in order to get to work the next day. If you can use the Elise as an everyday car, you're not in a bad situation and a TVR may well fit into your lifestyle OK. Once you've owned a Supra, its a very hard car to replace. I really haven't got a clue what I'll replace mine with when the time comes, except a later Supra, but being that there aren't that many 2002 cars around, its a bit like looking for hens teeth. If you do buy a TVR, FFS buy on condition and not price, there's a hell of a lot of poor condition cars around just waiting for the inexperienced (of TVRs) to fall into
  14. Don't buy a SpeedSix! Not unless you're a masochist with deep pockets
  15. I wouldn't say that my Griff is unreliable, just unpleasant to drive in adverse weather conditions. The wipers aren't the best I've experienced, the rear screen mists up, you can't have the window open, or the roof off to hear the exhaust and unless you're extremely careful all the time, getting traction is an absolute nightmare. Of course when its not raining/snowing/icy its a great car to drive. You can't really better it for the fun aspect, its just not as versatile as the Supra. Also if you guys are finding it hard to keep your Supras out of the ditches this time of year, you've got no chance with a TVR (certainly a Griff, anyway) its so bloody twitchy, sometimes I think its got tourettes Don't get me wrong, I love twitchy cars in the right conditions, that's one of the reasons I bought the Griff, but I also knew that I wouldn't have to use it when the conditions were crap. I use mine in the winter, but I just pick my days, and where I'm going. If I've got a good run out, and it doesn't look like rain, I may take it to work for the day, but at 10 mpg in town, this time of year, its got to be a lucrative call to make it cost effective
  16. When its hot, the oil is thinner and will find its way out a lot easier. If its leaking from the bellhousing it sounds like the front seal on the 'box, so out it comes again
  17. It depends on what TVR you get to begin with. The RV8 ones ie the Chimaera and Griffith are a lot cheaper to maintain and repair, although you've still got to bank on spending a fair bit of time "playing" with it. Personally I enjoy it, so its no big deal, but if you've got to stick it in a garage every time, it would become a bit tiring. I don't think I'd want to have a TVR as my only form of transport/daily driver. As a complimentary car to the Supra its ideal, but to have to use it in all weathers I don't somehow think we'd stay friends long
  18. That's absolutely appalling. It made me feel quite sick and so terribly sorry for those poor animals. I agree with Pete, we DO need to see things like this, certainly not to get any enjoyment from, but to realise the unnecessary suffering that some of the animals are made to go through, to provide us with food. No, I'm not going to become a vegetarian, but I will consider more carefully the sources that my food comes from after watching this.
  19. No, my VVTi TT never had a spoiler from new. Dude fitted the one to mine after I bought it.
  20. Is the thread on the steering column OK? If it's just the nut that's stripped you need to get the steering wheel off and run a die up the thread on the steeing column to clean it up, then refit the wheel with a new nut. If it's all damaged, then its a new steering column, I'm afraid Don't even think about bodging it with glue or welding it in place. This is one area of the car that has to be "right" The last thing you want is for the wheel to come off while you're driving
