  1. Yeah, but wouldn't it be a bit off putting when she looked up at you foaming at the mouth
  2. I was well into it circa 1980. I also got my amateur licence G6XJN but I haven't been active for a while, although I've always kept my licence valid just in case I fancied going on air again. It was a lot of fun at the time, I spent many a happy hour sitting in my car, through the night, winding people up Amazingly I still bump into people that were on CB at the same time as me, unsurprisingly, they always seem to remember me by the cars I drove
  3. Well that looks like a fairly impressive list. You can add the best looking TVR to it (Griffith) ATM I still don't think you can beat the Supra for bang for the buck performance, maybe in a few years time it'll be eclipsed by some of the later cars, but considering its age, its holding up well. I do take your point that the rate is open to be hiked at every opportunity, but unfortunately progressive governments have been tightening up on car "fun" ever since I can remember In a lot of ways, the older cars are more fun to drive, because they lack a lot of the modern electronic "safety" devices. If you're looking of real fun, and want to stick one on the chancellor, have a look for pre 1973 US muscle cars. 7 litre V8 power, and FREE road tax
  4. What because of £200 extra road tax? With a car like that its just the tip of the running costs iceberg. Ok none of us want to pay £400 road tax, but it would take more than £200 a year extra to stop me from driving a decent car rather than a run of the mill POS.
  5. Personally I'd be checking out 16, 37 & 38
  6. If its running perfectly, why mess with it? Personally, unless I was intending for big power increases, I'd leave the thing alone and save my money.
  7. Out of that lot, lights and sunset IMO What you really need is the sky from No1 photoshopped onto No 4
  8. If it happens 3 times per revolution, its just the engine coming on compression.
  9. Sorry to hear that Michael. It's always so hard when you lose a pet, especially in that way. I do agree that the least anyone can do is stop if they've run over an animal. I really can't understand some people. Chin up mate, eh.
  10. Supras now are the cheapest they've ever been. In 2001/2 you'd have been lucky to pick up an N/A for under £12k or a TT for under £15k
  11. I suppose it's got to be a performance upgrade really. The insurance company aren't really interested in the actual mechanics involved, only that it now has a greater bhp output. Just think of it as a "normal" turbo car, and you've just replaced the turbo with a bigger one.
  12. I've got a mkivsupra.net one on the front screen behind the mirror, and a "My other car's a TVR" on the back screen
  13. Probably the temp sender unit screwed into the block
  14. So you can take it to someone who quotes a cheap price, or CW who'll do a good job. It's a no brainer IMO
  15. This really is beyond the realms of sensibilities. How did they manage to come up with that sentence?
  16. Blimey Ewen, you're accommodating, there's just some things that take international relations to unacceptable limits
  17. Happy Birthday Pete. Have a great day
  18. Is that so you think it'll fly
  19. Brilliant photos, well done to whoever took them
  20. Unlikely that you'll be able to turn the freezer compartment off. TBH, it sounds like a bin job
  21. If you've somehow managed to pour antifreeze into the intercooler, that's your problem, although quite how you'd manage to do it with dismantling it confuses me
  22. Thanks everyone. It is a great camera. It really comes into its own in circumstances like this because you can increase the gain (ISO value) without incurring too much noise on the photo. So you can have a faster shutter speed, to reduce camera shake.
