  1. It's actually very rare in the USA. Given it's capabilites, though, I saw no reason to discount it. Plus anytime we were in need of tech support, help was just a phone call away. You are indeed correct in that whatever situations there were with the car, the new buyer and I were on the same page.
  2. No problem at all Ed, I've got a comprehensive photo log of your build here, from bare block to on the pallet and ready to ship. Shoot me a PM if you have a chance. Thanks! Eric
  3. Hi Ed, How are you today? rest assured that your engine was built your spec. Just as all engines we build are built to the specs provided. Your pistons sit below the deck as can be seen in the pics. I thought you started your engine already?
  4. I can understand where you're coming from, really. If the public feels they've been misled, then I apologize for them feeling that way. But I believe that I showed a great amount of my build, for better or worse. The motor I was built tread on some uncharted ground and there's a lot that I learned along the way. It worked well, I thought. But I do understand what you're saying, I absolutely agree that it's a double edged sword. Everyone's got parts of their car they wish were better or different, just no one ever talks about it. I say it is what it is.
  5. I think, and I'm not all that sure, that the mass Supra community is upset because my wiring wasn't as clean as they would like it to be. I've got no defense for that, other than the new owner and myself are on the same page when it comes to the wiring. I think also, that many people take other peoples car builds personally and somehow pretend that the build should be done to their specs, as bizarre as that sounds.
  6. Again, I built the car the best way I knew how. I built the car for me, not for you , or anyone a Titan Motorsports. Whether you or Titanmotorsports liked the car or what's in the car means as much to me as whether you or Titanmotorsports likes termites as neither of you is the buyer. The only person that I am concerned with would be the new owner and that he is satisfied. The phone call I received from the new owner a couple days after the car arrived wsa good, and he said that he was happy with the car. For what it's worth, I put up 24 pictures, 2 videos, gave a good parts list of what's in the car, and made myself available after the sale. That's a damn sight more than you'll get with most used car sales.
  7. Chnco, you have been a contributor to the community for quite a long time. We both have. What I hope you understand is that I built that car (assembled I should say because much of the work was done by others) for me at the time and to the best of my abilities. The car worked for me for two years and I loved/hated it at the same time. When I sold the car, the new owner and I had the discussion about hwat he wanted to improve or change and he was very good with that. Really, that's where it should end. I don't build customers cars, I never have. I hope that's accepted. For whatever reason, the community took this car very personally and for whatever that reason may be I am sorry if I disappointed anyone. I'm a single man. But if it's worth anything, I will come back strong and prove myself worthy in the community. I want to make the comeback through dedication and humility.
  8. I feel that people are saying that, though. That's the hurtful part. I've put whatever I do on display for the last 5 years for better or worse, and no matter what I do, it never seems to be enough. When the car rolled off the trailer, the new owner was very happy. He told me that he bought 7 cars in the last two months, but this is the only one that lived up to his expectations. He told me in a later conversation that the wiring would have to be redone and they would be converting back to a single radiator. I agreed with him that wiring isn't my strong suit and he said that it wasn't a problem because he has techs to make it beautiful. If people are saying that the workmanship isn't up to stanard, then I have no defense. I did the best that I could. But the new owner did not express to me any disasatisfaction and only told me no worries, they can handle it there at the dealership.
  9. No, I knew what a pop up piston or proud deck was already. No matter what though, I represented the power it was making properly, and displayed a dyno chart to the new owner. I also talked tothe toyota tech working with the car and answered his questions thoroughly. I made sure that I was available after the sale for any quesitons.
  10. I don't work on anyone elses cars. I worked on my own at the time to the best of my ability. Nor am I an engine builder, I outsource for that task just like everyone else.
  11. Again, full disclosure with the buyer. I've already had this talk with the new owner and I told him that wiring isn't my strong suit. We've talked about 5 times in the last two months, and the new owner has been nothing but friendly and understanding. The new owner is a Toyota dealship in Iowa, and in our conversations, I was told "no problem, I have techs that can make it beautiful". Everybody is on the same page, at least the people concerned. Now I haven't heard from the new owner in ~2 weeks and last time we talked, we were all roses. Which is why this is such a surprise.
  12. I think this vinegar goes well beyond people wanting to see the inner workings of a motor. It's hurtful and malicious. It's being made to appear that I sold a car with engine issues, and that is absolutely not the case. I sold a car with a fresh tune making good power, and have a tuner that can back that up. Maybe it's easy to make fun, or maybe I'm taking the internet too seriously. People laugh and ridicule and it gets old after a while. Pistons above the deck isn't a new developlement, we've been discussing the ups and down since 2007. Really, the concept has been around since at least the 50's. It's called "proud deck" or "pop up pistons".
  13. I've said my say of SF, and I stand by it. I understand that this is the internet and people make villians out of dots of light, but for those who know me personally, they know that I am very upset by this. The honest facts are that I delivered a strong running car to the new owner. With full disclosure, pictures, and video at that. What happend with the new owner after the car left the trailer, I have my suspicions, but I will keep those to myself. Point would be that the car was torn apart six ways to Sunday after it left here. The proud deck is no mystery, it's been the case since 2007. In fact that proud deck was making 640rwhp through a Th400 before it left me. It's only teenage web personalities and flame warriors that like to turn it into something it's not. Again, I delivered a running, strong Supra, and now it's been torn to pieces by this shop for the purposes of furthering their own causes. I've not received a call or e-mail regarding the car from them, and all calls from the new owner have been received well. I didn't know about their thread until last night and the car has been gone for two months now. What's more, I put this car together for me and not for someone else. It was made to my satisfaction at the time. I sold it as a private individual, and when it left here it had a 19psi tune 40 miles ago. That's the truth and bottom line.
  14. 485 grams, can you believe that? A comparable Pauter rod weighs in at 710 grams, and a similar construction Manley I beam tips the scales at ~780 grams. On price, they're not cheap but believe it or not as Ti rods go, they're not bad. Thanks ! Eric
