I've had the misfortune to buy one of the navigator jobbies. 1st - Out of the box couldn't sync it to their database - send it back say they it needs some corruption sorting. 2nd - Got it back today ( in a jiffy bag, thanks guys ) sync'd it once and it died. First and last time I deal with them.

If you are in the market for this kind of thing take a look at the Buffalo Terastation - 1 Terabyte of space including built in RAID 5 for redundancy. I think they are around £500 at the moment which makes them top value. Just a thought

I took an extended test drive in one before the Supra arrived. I really wanted to like it, but it was too noisy, no torque worth speaking of and I thought it was a bit treacherous in the wet even at low speeds. I read somewhere recently that the engine is basically an overblown fireblade lump but taking that to 2L seems a bit unfeasible to me - I thought the bike engines were pretty much wrung out.

Does the Sky+ status say "failed" against a recording where it used to be ok or say the recording occupies "0" minutes? AFAIK there is now way back from a recording which shows as failed, but if it simply will not play a recording you may be able to get it back by powering down the box and rebooting it. This has worked for me when another recording has shown as failed but others which appear to be ok simply don't play. Delete the failed recording and reboot and the others may come back. I don't think secret engineers menu is going to help you recover a recording shown as failed but you could trawl through the digital spy av forums which has reams of info on sky+ good luck

Even though that Aston was a race car, to clip that much time off on a single lap was pretty impressive You can keep that Rover orange grill surround though - at least we know where longbridge is selling some of it's stock
