  1. Thanks I'll check it out. Looking to try tighten up the subframe bolts today, try and cure the clunking!
  2. Been searching for one if anyone has a link to a pdf. Found a service manual, but that's not great. Thanks
  3. My wheels won't let me fit ls400 brakes so I'm looking for pad recomendations for NA/ jap spec front brakes for the time being. Something that doesn't squeal during everyday use but something that will hold up for mild track use. Thanks
  4. Awesome. Thanks need to get a look at the ecu. See if there is a spare can socket. If not can you use a splitter ? If you cant tell inknow very little about ecus and wiring. Want to know what I'm doing before I fry £1500 of ecu
  5. Would be good to see what's going on with the car with realdash. Link g4x has a usb but I don't think the data come via it. So after some research I need a can usb analyser (which I now have) (https://forums.linkecu.com/topic/20442-g4x-ecu-with-realdash/#comment-118072) Question I have is what else do I need to connect this to the link ecu?
  6. Biggest job is pulling the engine to drill the oil return to sump. Also might want to uprate the clutch! I fitted the same kit so pm me with any more questions
  7. It's done it ever since it was installed. It's on my 5 speed w58. Makes a weird 'oooooo' sound when I pull away in 1st. That's it, doesnt make that noise any other time. I can sometimes stop it by giving no gas and just using the clutch to pull away. Also I'm just guessing it's the clutch as it wasn't doing it before the NAT conversion. Thoughts? As makes the car sound broken as I pull off.
  8. Need something a little quieter than my kakimoto. It's deafening! What have people got in the garage ?
  9. Ah, well I'll get the wheels off and check the calipers then, see if anything else is loose on them!
  10. Bringing up an oldish post buy how big was the clonking? Got a feeling my brakes are doing the same. But they are NA brakes. Also if the kit for TT brakes ? Or will it work with NA ones ?
  11. I'm in North Kent. I'll have a look for the template and report back !
  12. Hello all. Now I have more power, I think I need more stopping power. Main issue will be clearance with my current wheels. So anyone know the clearance needed for both the ls400 and TT uk 4 pot brakes. Read some measurements from another forum. 68mm from front of rotor to the back of the wheel min for the TTs. Thanks!
  13. I have a 2.5" kakimoto exhaust on the car at the moment, but it's definitely lost some quietening properties. Now I have the turbo kit on my NA I may as well get a 3 inch as my mid pipe from whifbitz is already 3 inch. What are my options? Not keen on raspy exhaust, prefer deep tones. This sort of thing. But I think it's for an NA and also can't find anywhere that sells apexi stuff in the UK. Feel free to attach your exhaust notes
  14. I get quite a loud creaking when starting and stopping, nothing when driving and not over bumps. Had the engine out recently so torqued up all the front suffrage bolts, none of which were loose. My mechanic took a look and couldn't see anything obvious. Sounds most likely from the back. Anyone got a checklist I can go through?
  15. Seems like I'm getting a battery drain since I dropped the engine out of the car and put it back in. Any ideas?
  16. I must have gone through 20 no crank ge posts on different forums. Most ended up being a fuse, relay or plug not clicked home or something like that. Forums are amazing still for this sort if diagnosis!
  17. OK so after spending the day with a multimeter and checking connections I had plugged one of the engine harness plugs into the wrong socket. Grey into white.... idiot. Still starts up now! Must have looked at it about 10 times!
  18. So I just powered up the relay and it seems fine. So must be something from the ignition on the way to the relay? What's there I can check
  19. OK so had the engine out to fit the turbo kit. Everything is back together but its not cranking over. Here's what I have tried so far. Fully charge battery Check constant 12v to starter Jump relay to checker starter and it cranks Checked plugs into ecu and fuse box are secure Checked fuses in drivers fusebox ST and IGN all good. Checked grounding to starter Checked 12v when ignition is turned at starter wire at starter motor and I'm not getting 12v... so I assume this will help solve it.. Tried to check the relay but I'm.not 100 percent sure on that one. But I did swap the fog relay into the starter and that seemed to fit but car still didn't crank Any ideas as I have run out!! One other thing is the previous owner installed a Rightclick immobiliser, but I think this just cuts the fuel as if I opened the car without deactivating the immobiliser it would just crank but nor start.
  20. Looks like a nice job! Luckily someone did that to mine before I bought it
  21. So went to get a pipe wrench as it's basically rounded off now, hopefully that will get it off. Will need a new fill plug. Can I grab one locally? Or do I need a toyota one? If I can get it locally, what size ? If I can't I guess I will fill it from the top. I just had the engine and gearbox out so it should be pretty empty. How much put in if I'm doing it blind. Thanks
  22. Ordered the ngk ones. Decent brand so. Thanks for the tip.
  23. Any advice ? Doing the nat conversion and current leads are only 5mm and one doesnt fit well. Any recommendations and advice on where to buy. Whifbitz have them just a little pricey.
  24. Thanks guys. Ready for the work. Someday I will have a garage !
