  20. I have stripped down my old engine from my previous UK spec Supra, which blew a headgasket over a year ago. The engine would only fire on 5 cylinders when cold and run perfect when warmed up, this was due to water entering No6 cylinder and soaking the plug. Now the engine has been sitting in my garage since then, I now plan on using the short block for my new project and was looking for advice on whether or not the block would be reusable? I have removed the head and found surface rust on No6 Cylinder bore and also rusty sludge on the piston, which can be wiped cleaned. I have also removed the waterpump and found orange sludge inside the water passages. My question is has this surface rust scrapped the block or will it be OK? or will honing the cylinders and replacing the rings do the Job? I will take pictures for clearer description tommorow.
