    Decided to ditch My custom bonnet for the time being in favour of a new carbon Top Secret one. Not too keen on all carbon, so decided to prep ready for paint. 3M fine edge masking tape as I'm keeping the vents carbon. All primered up, ready for prep & paint.

    That's the spirit. Watch you don't scratch your bulkhead as the engine tilts downwards once the box mount is off.

    Yes you can and it's easier to do so compared to base coat clear.

    The respray's done. I am so pleased with the result in 2K, I won't bother with basecoat clear as previously suggested. The paint has so much depth and shine it almost glows.

    I'm after some rear red sidemarkers found on the facelift model, looking for a swap for some brand new clear one's or will buy if anybody doesn't want a swap. Please contact me 0121 7721198 if it's easier.

    Taj will be painting the shell in 2K tomorrow, if it comes out as nice as the sideskirts then I'm leaving as is and won't bother with base coat clear.

    That's the plan Hodge. The exterior and interior will be done in a few weeks, however the mechanical work won't be done till winter time.

    Got something going on with the wheels aswell, all will be revealed soon.

    Painted the sideskirts and the inner bumper shrouds

    Will be doing the above as the shell will be preped this weekend and then painted in 2K next week, We will then flat and re-coat in basecoat clear. My choice to do it in 2K is so provides a good base colour for the final paint also any little imperfections can be ironed out and will be harder for any stone chips to break through.

    My mate Taj will be doing the prep and knows his stuff, he has already suggested the above. We have already baked the kit on and off the car just to eliminate any warpage, air pockets, etc.

    Not updated for a while, but have been doing bits & bobs. Tonight We have preped and primered the shell. The next stage will be to flat and paint in 2K and then flat again and paint in base coat clear. More updates soon.
