  1. I got mine from Paul Whiffin, who can also do the subframes to fit as well. Give him a shout for prices... ( Defo cheaper than anywhere else I could get them from ...)
  2. I've got Corbeau Carreras in mine. Very good value for money.... Nice support, and leaves you to use the steering wheel as intended! And they make the car smell a whole lot better !
  3. Anyone else in central London ? this is getting very serious........
  4. I'm over near Moorgate - looks pretty chaotic....
  5. Hmm, gear selection may be a slight adjustment needed. Not noticed the click disappearing. Give Paul a shout - He runs one so may be able to help more....
  6. Imi - Paul fitted mine, but you may need to adjust the four bolts that hold it in place? so that it feels right. Mine just feels positive - is yours difficult to shift then?
  7. Imi - it does, but it's not so much so that it's difficult. I reckon it makes it nicer because its a positive shift, not sloppy like before. Tried it yesterday with some faster more spirited driving and it's excellent. I used to miss changes , especially 2nd to 3rd - but thats alot easier now. Make sure its adjusted properly and you should be fine.
  8. I had a B&M fitted yesterday, as my stock shift was sloppier than a sloppy thing, and I must admit it's very good. It's nice to know you're definately in gear as its got a notchy but positive feel to it. The throw is only supposed to be about 25% less. ( sorry Chris )
  9. Having seen the mixed response on these babies - thought I'd add this.... Had one of these fitted yesterday and love every second of it... It's tight, short and quick - just can't wait to track it... Never realised gear changes could be so sexy. And a thanks to Paul Whiffin for suggesting and installing ( and convincing me to give it a try )

    seat help

Brian, try Paul Whiffin ( whifbitz.co.uk ) - he's got subframes for Corbeau seats - they may fit ???
  11. The other problem with a boxter is everyone comments - ' oh it's just a boxter' which kinda gets to you when you've shelled out huge amounts of money... I'd have to disagree with the residual values that are commonly used - mine lost £12K in 2 years. Slightly off topic - Craig... If your mates want a heads-up on what goes wrong with them I'd gladly give some info. ( constructive of course ;-)) )
  12. Having owned a boxter for 2 years, and then having switching to supras, I can only say that its a balance of what you want the car to be/do. The boxter is an incredibly stable car but underpowered. Country roads are a bliss to travel through and no corner really proves to difficult for it. Track days in a boxter are fantastic fun, but you end up wanting more power once you've settled into it - and that costs mega bucks. Mine had far too many problems with reliability in 2 years for me to justify the price/running costs, so I went for a supra. The supra is a very competant car all round, but it is bigger and heavier than the boxter, so don't expect the same dynamics - that said the grin you get everytime you push the right pedal far outways the difference. They're not as agile round country roads, but track side they are unbelievable. Once you've had some track time, you want a little more power - so you upgrade bits n pieces to give you more power and you get back on it ! These are my opinions on the two cars - the supra wins my heart everytime - I've never regreted changing - so much so that I'm on my second supra - I wouldn't have bought another boxter......

    TO4R.com

Ryan Woo's got some nice new pics - most will like the new co-driver :-)
  14. dee_rz, I've used Porterfield pads for 4 years - they make 2 types , a fast road and track pad - track ones are v.good and fine for road use. Only drawback is they are dusty so you need to keep your wheels clean ( just read Petes post.... ) - the brake lines and fluid are a v.good upgrade as well.
  15. I've used Paul for the last 4 years - even bought my latest manual from him. Both Daz and Paul offer excellent service. Woud always recommend .... Nuff Said
  16. Thats impressive guy's - its always nice to see the hard work paying off. Keep squeezing .....
  17. Stereo's aren't my first seat filler - but I think I've seen the F&F one... I was thinking more along the lines of carpeting / boarding the space, but not sure what to use that'll be strong enough to take the wheels and light enough that I'm not replacing the weight ( although weight loss is a secondary thing - the space is the primary aim ) Maybe I'll just have to play around with some mdf and see what comes up. There was a guy on the US bbs who prefab'd and carpeted a platform, so that maybe the way to go......
  18. And what have you put in place? I'm thinking of removing the rear seats to give a bit more space - mainly for a set of rear wheels so I can take them to a track

    j-spec turbos

Of the 2 J-Specs I've had, they both sound rather loud - mainly noticable on the first turbo spool - from around 2500rpm upwards. You will hear them from inside the car without a stereo on. I've also heard the infamous 'death whine' and thats not the polite 'jet engine' kinda noise you normally get - plus you get naff all above 4000rpm ! ATEOTD - if yer worried about it - leave it alone and find another.... they'll be one. You can always give the traders on here a shout Steve.

    j-spec turbos

You might also need an FCD to stop the fuel cut... I needed one on my auto, but that was without a restrictor ring fitted. ( It's pretty obvious if you hit it ! ) You could replace the stock element with a replacement uprated panel filter, something like the apexi one for example... which gives a little more breathing, doesn't need replacing like a paper stock one, and keeps the cool air coming in from the normal route through the front vent
  21. I've used malplates a couple of times - been very quick turnaround. They've even got my slogan on the ideas page : Life begins at 140 .....
  22. I've currently got UK calipers and discs with Porterfield R4 pads + Motul H600 fluid. These were fine for all day action at Bedford Autodrome's Full track and 4 other track days so far.... Must admit though - having been in a supe with KAD 378mm 6 pots and R4 pads - I nearly hit my head on the dash !!! Steve
  23. Just a thankyou to the organisers from another satisfied customer... Option of agreed value was so enticing for me, I switched mid term from my previous insurer. ( after finding out that they'd only pay book value and not replace my 'insured' extras ) Result was ( only ) approx £100 less - but piece-of-mind is worth a whole lot more.....
  24. I get this with some DVD's, it's basically the drive not being able to read a track off the DVD. I usually use something like DVD Decrypter to copy the entire DVD to harddisk, then shrink that. Don't quite know why DVD Decrypter can read the tracks and DVD Shrink can't! If you can't find a link to it on the web, I'll try and get details later tonight.
  25. When I had my Auto ( exhaust,FCD,Walbro ) at Bedford Autodrome, fella in an M3 tried all day to pass me, but didn't have the pull. Constantly gained on corner entry, but couldn't reign me in on exit..... They are quick, but we seem to have the grunt even at basic modded level. Only things that trounced me was my mates Cerbera ( fettled by TVR ) and a carrera turbo ( he was plain nuts! )
