Sorry guy's heres some pics... 'Drivers' one has small tear (3rd pic) where it rubbed against my cage. 'Passenger' one has two small nics in the left bolster and one on right shoulder wing (1st pic) 'Drivers' one has recently been recovered, 'Passenger' one has original cover. Apart from that in good condition. I have 1 frame as well, IIRC its a Bride one, currently at Whifbitz. Like I said, these will only be available for pickup as I've shipped seats before and had nothing but trouble afterwards with couriers.

Blimey - ok, pics it will be I'll post them up later tonight... @AlexM - they're standard size.

*** SOLD *** Hi Guy's, (Gauging interest, as I've been offered money for these so seeing if anyone wants them and I can get more ) I've got a pair of Recaro Profi SPG's up for sale. They've been used in my race car for the last 3 years. Drivers one has been recovered using proper Recaro replacement covers. I'll get some pics up over the w/e, but they are in good condition, the passenger one has a couple of small nicks on one side. These are excellent seats and I didn't want to part with them, but regs and Hans devices forced me to I also 'should' have a frame for one of these which I'm trying to track down. So, I reckon £400 for the pair is a fair price and if I can find the frame £450. I'd also prefer pickup only as they are difficult to package. They can be picked up from mine, or if preferred I can leave them at Whifbitz....

Hi guys, quick update as Im Knackered and only recently unpacked.... There is video which will be edited shortly, and results are here : http://www.tsl-timing.com/brscc/2011/111431.pdf ...of to get some sleep -
Whifbitz Supra Racing in Eurosaloons Championship this weekend
SteveL replied to Paul Whiffin's topic in Supra Chat
Hi guys, big thanks to Tim and Mike for coming down and helping out. It was an eventfull day, a few problems in qualifying put me way down the grid, but that just spurned me on to do the team proud in the race. There will be a full report coming asap, as were back there tomorrow for the second round. Daz has a couple of jobs to do before then, so we'll be back at the circuit tomorrow morning to sort those our. Must admit, this stuff is the nutts! Had a great battle with a couple of cars. Totally different tactics to Time Attack and a massive learning curve but I'm up for the challenge -

Hi guys, Were trying something different this year, after doing 3 years Time Attack, so we'll be at Silverstone this coming weekend for the first 2 rounds of the Euro Saloons Championship. Details on the race series : http://www.eurosaloons.co.uk/default.php timetable for this weekend's race : http://www.eurosaloons.co.uk/Downloads/TimetableSS9_10April2011-Issue1.pdf ...so if anyone wants to come down and see a MKIV competing in 2 races you're more than welcome to come a see the car close up. AFAIK this is the first MKIV to compete in this kind of racing in the UK (but I'm willing to be corrected )

Neil, if you can get to Bedford before the trackday or before booking, they will do a sound test to make sure you're ok. Just give them a call to say youre coming down.

Mike, I think there needs to be some real evidence for us to see if the Pirelli's are any good. I'm not knocking the tyre, but I want to see proof in terms of performance on a back to back test with data logging. Theres a lot of speculation over these tyres, both good and bad, so it needs to be proved before some people will commit to this series.... Chris is right in terms of the R888's performance, as a lot of people state they aren't the best - but I can also add that we can compete on these tyres (forced or not!) for pretty much a complete season of TA racing on one set of tyres. I'm personally reserving judgement until I see facts, nd try for ourselves - not "they were 1.5 seconds quicker than R888's " without data. We's also have to use two different tyres (front and rear) as Pirelli don't make the same tyre in our sizes .... again whats the proof this will be ok. Theres also an interesting point of view about Pirelli being a 'sponsor' - I can order the same tyres from etyres, and have them fitted for the same amount that Pirelli would supply... ( and the fact it increases our running costs for a set of tyres by nearly 50%) BTW - if anyones interested in a lively debate on this, see the MLR forum http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?t=356152&page=15

for sale Stilo SP2 Turismo helmet and sparco neck brace
SteveL replied to SteveL's topic in Other Items
Just to confirm, this is know sold - thanks Richard... Oh, and for the record - just staying in and polishing your helmet isn't as much fun as taking it out on a track day -
Hi guys, I'm selling my Stilo helmet that I've used for the last 2 years in Time Attack. It's in very good condition, doesn't smell (as I've always let it dry out naturally) and is ideal for track days and competition use. Also a sparco neck brace, again in very good condition. Helmet is Size 58 Medium Both never crashed £140 for both + postage (guessing between £10-20 depending on type)

I've used Whifbitz for nearly 10 years now (I think they've been going for 11 years) and have never needed to go anywhere else. Informed, knowlegable, experienced and funny sometimes . These guys have built and modified my time attack car ever since I first started with 'track/race' prepped cars, so if you want proof of workmanship quality then running a built engine for almost two seasons of hard driving and testing (not just the odd track day/road use) before needing a reuild should show that these guys know whats needed. (The rebuild was for maintenance reasons, not because of build issues - in case anyone asks) They have come a long way since I first used them, to the extent they now have significant investment in supra parts that are tried and tested, so the guesswork is removed. Cynics may say that I'm biased because I'm sponsored by them - true I am, but I still have to put my own money ( and sometimes considereable ) into the car as nothing is free in this world. All I can say is I'm happy to spend and keep spending money with these guys. I could go on, but I'll emabarass them .....

I surely will be... We're chasing the championship this weekend, currently 20 points behind Jamie in the Elise, so I need to beat him in qualifying and beat Paul and Jamie in the final to take the championship. It won't be an easy ride, but I have nothing to lose, as I'll come second even if I dont compete -
Chris is right - its difficult to tell! I was convinced I hadn't got a Torsen in mine originally, but it was. I did the tests described an it looked like it wasn't.

Paul from whifbitz can get their stuff I believe - give him a try...

Excellent, we'll try an show-boat a bit for some 'twin-action' pictures Come and say hi... -
Absolutely, I just couldn't believe the pace he turned in at the bottom of the back straight - we were pulling about 150mph down the straight but had to rein in so much he went down the inside of us, off line and still disappeared off into the distance. Plus I dont think there was a corner where the whole car was on the black stuff!

Just a little update... Those of you following Paul's thread : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=174664&page=27 ...will have already seen we did a test day at Snetterton on Tuesday. Fantastic way to get some decent practice and setup time, as there was hardly anyone there all day. We had the Chevrolet WTCC team next to us testing one of their cars with Alain Menu driving. Now I thought this was an excellent chance to see what lines he took through the circuit! Unfortunately, WTCC cars have incredible handling capabilities, especially in the hands of such a driver, so after an initial attempt to keep up with him on the back section of Snetterton - which lasted for about 2 corners! - I gave up with that idea and concetrated on setting the car up. After an initial wet/greasy start to the day, which was excellent fun (again with hrdly anyone around we could get away with doing stuff just not possible on a track day) we had to settle into doing some proper testing. As I had recently had the new OS Giken diff fitted I needed to get used to how the car now handled.... and all I can say is wow! By the end of the day I had backed off the traction control allowing the diff to do the work and was getting some great improvements in traction out of corners, especially the tight right-hander at the end of the back straight. This is something I have struggled with for a while, having to previously wait for the stock diff and traction control to work out where the grip is and get me out of a corner. This was particularly frustraiting at Brands and Cadwell - where I could feel the inside wheel just spinning up and the traction control the bogging down the power. After settling in I started playing around with suspension settings, mainly trying to confirm if I had my current settings correct in terms of how I like to have the car handle and to try and remove the issues we had last year with some nasty understeer. Both were acheived by the end of the day. I managed a best of 1:16.11 and consistent 1:17's - which was on the completely shot set of tires we used from Cadwell, so I'm hoping (as Paul is!) that we have more to come with fresh tires. (I could bore you with the tire fiasco we've had this year, but that would just send you all to sleep... if you're not already) Anyhow, with a setup finalised, I went out for a few more laps, and bumped into Alain whilst out there... I thought I'd done pretty well to stay in front of him for a whole lap, and let him past on the front straight (hoping with my new setup I could snatch some tips off his lines etc). I tucked in behind him and we entered the first corner.... ok so far, still with him.... lines look good.... braking into the second corner.... ah - where's he gone! By the time I came out of the tight right-hander onto the back straight he was about a 1/4 of the way down it! I managed to reel him back in only to see him disappear into and out of the next two corners before I'd even entered them! Thats why he was doing 1:13's all day and I wasn't! I later found out he was on a warmup lap when he followed me around .... bugger. Ego is now completely deflated. So, heres looking forward to TA on the 10th.... hopefully some of you can come and see us in action -
As Paul said, what a blast it was on Tuesday... It was like sharing the track with a WTCC team for the whole day! There were some very rapid cars there which made the whole day more productive - not having to constantly watch out for slower/other cars around you is a huge difference. Alain was a star - very polite and a good laugh, as were the whole team. They were fascinated by the size of the turbos we were using I'll update my thread to keep Pauls devoted to his car : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=177142&page=5 ... more details on what I did there.....
