  1. Ok Rob, I'll have a look at where we can meet up .
  2. ...thought you'd sniff this one out Chris Sam... keep in mind that the Marham day is going to be busy and you probably won't get a whole day out on track, so wear will be reduced. The partworn rears may be a good idea - although you'll probably be illegal by the end of the day when you drive home ( unless they are on seperate wheels..) - or you could creep home ;-) The rears will suffer more though .... as the fronts will get loaded up on the outer edges if you have a road camber setup. I'd be happy to take you out in mine with the R888's so you can see how they compare for the money
  3. How many miles have you done on them? - if they're too new they'll be a little slippy to start with, as they need a few miles to wear them in. I've used pretty new proxies on the track before and the tread does rough up a bit, but soon flattens out again on the road. Part worn may be better as they will have less tread depth so will generate a little less heat / movement which will give a bit better grip. But it depends what the part worn's are? As if they are a harder compound they may be worse on grip but save the new F1's! Difficult choice really - which is why I'll be running on R888's at Marham on Sunday.
  4. I've obviously missed something here.... thats just plain nasty! Are there any other pics of what it looks like? I hope I don't see that round my way :-)
  5. ...same here - really sorry to hear this... ( currently welling up in the office! ) It's not an easy time, but remember his good moments and know that you gave him a good home.

Ahh - fair point ... The only thing in the car for comfort is the recaros ! Thanks Bobbeh.

... so would a stone driveway mean you end up with 'fred flinstone' wheels by the time you get off the drive ?

I'll have to see how the R888's go, as I use toyo/falkens for road use at the moment. Graham - I use 235/40/18 (toyo T1R ) and 265/35/18 (Falken FK451 )... Falkens are a little hard, but very good for the money and the toyos are great for a little more. The combination works well as the harder rears are a good reminder in the dry that I'm breaking traction ! Haven't tried the Rosso's yet - but they're on the list to try soon as others have also commended their use.

I'm hopefully getting some R888's for the RAF Marham track day, so we'll see how they go! Interesting to see Bobbeh using them 'everyday' as I only do short trips in mine so glad to hear they are useable :-)
  10. ... hopefully I wont be braking like a girl anymore
  11. They look familiar If anyones interested - I'll be at RAF Marston in a few weeks testing these babies out.... On the road - they are excellent, even with the R4 pads. Haven't noticed any degrade in handling re the unsprung weight issue, as in fact the steering seems more responsive. ( Mines used on country roads eveyday as well ) Big to Paul - he'd been convincing me for a while to go with these and theres absolutely no regrets.
  12. Absolutely... Sheefa, don't get the wrong impression - I used to run jspec twins at 1.2 bar and compared to my stage 1 running 0.8 bar there is way more power ... so when the boost is turned up to 1.5 bar the difference is insane! I'd also driven an auto with 'stage 2' hybrids and this still doesn't feel anyting like the delivery of my single on 0.8 bar..... Plus - they'll run at 0.8 bar all day long producing more power... stock tubbies will go bang eventually at 1.2 bar, and when you turn them up they'll just develop more heat and become a bottle neck when you do want more power. Put it this way.... it must be significantly better otherwise all the single owners out there would have said 'DONT DO IT' ... but I can't remember any single owner ever saying that
  13. ..deffo good advice. my stage 1 is significantly better than my jspec twins where and thats even at the turned down 0.8bar. I don't have exact figures as I've not been on a dyno with the setup I'm now running, but I wanted quick spooling and driveability for road and some track work. Make sure you know what you want to use the car for, then you can narrow down the choice. ... joins the queue I thought people used the GT4088R because it had more characters in its name :-)
  14. Absolutely.... I suggested AVG as they have free stuff so you can try it, but also have a collection of tools for further protection. I use their firewall software as it has a nice interface, and costs less per machine than the big boys.
  15. It'll be my first meeting with the attending owners on here... is anyone heading up on the Sunday that wants a convoy buddy ? I'll be heading up from south of Cambridge
  16. I've used a few over the last few years and currently use AVG antivirusfirewall. try them at http://www.grisoft.com - they have a free trial you can download. I've not noticed any overhead problems so far...
  17. You weren't wrong mate - those wheels do look very nice.... I was just a little too slow !
  18. ... mines a non-turbo 24v - didn't know they made a turbo version! Cheers Gaz, didn't think it was worth going down the 'cheap as chips' route... with the baby on the back it'd be nice to know that it'll get there in one piece ! 2 tonnes.... better go and check the weight limits of a volvo 960!
  19. ... and it's got the dog guard and tailgate guard in it as well
  20. Thanks Chris - somehow I figured you'd know I'll have a look at the co's you mentioned .... Thanks Phoenix-One, wasn't sure about type of vehicle either, but I've a volvo 960 at the mo, so that should be ok.
  21. Guy's Anyone have experience of trailering a Supe around. I'm thinking of getting a trailer, but currently have no idea where to start in terms of what to look for.... Any suggestions ?
  22. Ahh, thats the one.... I sit corrected ! ... class Ro, thats made a crappy day go better
  23. Pig, can't remember for sure but wasn't there airflow issues on UK specs and BOV's dumping to atmosphere? Something to do with stalling etc?
  24. ok, so why are you not dealing with PHR? Have they refused to help? ( No dissing intended, just that there must be a reason for not dealing with the manufacturer?)
