  1. Walk-in cage, like a big bird cage...only to keep birds out. Or a big flat mesh of chicken wire. Depending on the depth between water level and the top of the pond, that might work. Something strong enough not to bend under the weight of a bird anyway.
  2. OK, so magnecor appear to offer a suitable alternative. Once again, is there any value there?
  3. I was thinking of the cigarette lighter.... Or perhaps into the distributor to replace the existing spark plug wires. They do list a MKIV N/A specific version of the product. I'd kinda like to know if it's pointless or not, besides the measurable BHP benefits of having red wires instead of mucky black/grey.
  4. http://nology.com/hot.html Has anybody used these? Any use, or are they a complete waste of money? I must confess to being sceptical that a fancy wire can make an engine better, but that's just me!
  5. Ah, that'll polish out, no worries!

    Vortex Crate engines

Did this idea ever get anywhere? I'm coming to the point where I'll need to make the touch decision of trading up my N/A, or modding it...either NA-T or now the idea of an engine swap. What kind of costs came about from this idea?
  7. Don't forget that more people actually voted Tory this last time, than voted labour. It's just the massively unbalanced constituency sizes that kept blair in power this time.
  8. Interesting stuff, but I am forced to wonder if it could work properly. For some reason I just can't picture a car running off a propane cylinder. Would be a smart idea though, since you can carry around spare cylinders, and pick up new ones at just about any garage.
  9. Martine must have lost a load of weight - wasn't she quite chubby a couple of years back? Good looking, but her awful voice makes me want to tear my ears off just to not hear her. I suppose there might be other ways to shut her up though
  10. For the benefit of anyone who misses out on this deal, I can recomend a Black and Decker 12v cordless screwdriver with a 5mm hex-bit - much quicker and easier to work than the ratchet tool.
  11. Nice idea - I can spend literally two hours commuting, using a bus and three trains each way, rather than driving for 35 minutes (at signficantly lower cost, even with high petrol prices). Principle is sound, but lets face it - what a pain in the arse! Did anyone else see 'spooks' last night. The bad-guy said something very relevant: "We must always have a higher pain threshold than them". As the panic buying shows, the general public has a very low pain threshold, especially once the gov turns up the heat with the emergency services arguement. We're too accustomed to an easy life.
  12. I _used_ to work there, and I never saw any blue R-plated Supras. Mines on an R, but mines black. Haven't worked there for six months though.
  13. Sounds awesome - I had to pay last time I was in that situation Seriously - I was on a shark dive in the Andaman sea, about 18 metres underwater, three or four five-foot grey sharks arounds, and I managed to slash my hand open. Funny thing about diving is the way the light changes the colour of things - the blood pouring out in the water was a weird green colour. Anyway, the sharks weren't in the least bit interested - it's just not natural for them to eat people, so the woman in the article wants compensation for what exactly? Getting wet?
  14. Come on then: Natalie Portman or Carrie Fisher (back in the day). Carrie for me, please
  15. It's amazing how baddly some people want to ruin a car!!!

mmm...TRD shocks and springs for £700. That sounds about right....Made by Bilstein, right? Any opinion from the esteemed Mr Wilson (no, seriously, I really want to know)

Don't mean to be rude, but earlier you said Tein and HKS were good... Now I'm confused...

Are these not part of the standard product / package then? Do these have to be specified separately? More importantly, though they fix the problem of the knocking, are they in fact a 'fudge' that simply masks the noise, rather that resolve the root of the problem?

Not intending to hijack the thread, what's the validity of a comment I heard recently about _most_ aftermarket suspension that doesn't fit quite right, and knocks? Need to know, so I can make a decision about going with Tein Super Streets rather than stock Toyotas. Oh yeah, what's the longevity like? Thanks
  20. As it says above - needed to get my MOT. '97 SZ auto. Thanks
  21. "Wet Willy's White Water Rafting" was my fave pin-table. Oh the hours I wasted on that!
  22. Actually, thinking about it, Mike's is a very late model TT6 (2000) so it wouldn't have been an aerotop.
  23. There are plans afoot to do just this starting in more built up areas of course, then rolling out further. Not sure where - it was on the news a few months ago.
