  1. I see what you mean, I’ll add it to the list Today work has started on the strip down, took it into a trusted garage & it has a couple oil leaks and a slight fuel leak plus other little bodged jobs. We have decided to pull the engine and replace all the gaskets & rebuild it. Probably a lot quicker than I’d have liked to, but Atleast she will be ready for show season!
  2. Haha, Luckily banks now check names and he was definitely an ‘Assad’ When you actually sit there and put it all together, I can’t help but think WTF did I do Thanks Mark, I have the old logbook with the old keepers details, I have reached out to him on Facebook but it hasn’t been read yet. That’s where most of my research has led me, he either sold a car that he wasn’t entitled to, sold it as a trader or didn’t declare he was the owner for 8 months... Thanks for the support guys!
  3. Yeah unfortunately, I seen the listing an hour before ending & let the little child in me take over He claims not to be a trader but the log book wasn’t in his name, he has a ‘trading’ business so I am currently looking at the other options. He also claims he has spoke to his Solicitor and ‘I have no chance of winning’ The worst part about it is, I have him the offer of going half on the turbo £200 (there’s a second hand one on eBay) and we would agree to part ways & I’ll sort the car, he refused. That now makes me want to take him to the cleaners
  4. I know mate, if I knew then what I do now I would have On the face of it, it did just seem like cosmetic issues but then the more you start looking the more you notice. You had it spot on in your original post, but I’m not going to be defeated by it - She will have another chance to stretch her legs
  5. Hi All, Just thought I’d drop a New Member thread up. I am Rick & recently purchased a TT Auto, I have had 2 R34 GTTs recently and an Evo 6 RS, I have always wanted a Supra so thought I’d take the plunge with one. My cars rarely stop standard & I am excited to see where this Beauty takes me. The car itself does seem to have a clean body, it’s had a bare metal respray 2 years ago but unfortunately that’s as far as the good news goes. It seems to have been abused a little and the more I dig the more I realise the seller hid! I am not one to shy away from a challenge & I have no doubt I will get her up to standard over the year. A couple of Pictures as we all love a good pic! (A few are 2 years old as I haven’t had chance to get it in front of the camera yet) My current fleet consists of a V250 & Captiva
  6. Thanks Guys, I agree it does seem a little messed up. I’ll drop a new thread for the build in a bit & look forward to meeting you guys at meets!
  7. I kind of wished I had dropped by sooner, this has frankly hurt my head... The above chap Assad was actually the chap who was selling the car but claiming to want to buy it? Guess that’s what living in Birmingham does for you I brought the car as an impulse buy, knowing I haven’t kept cars standard for long the interior didn’t really bother me (Although when I did get home and take a further look there was even mould growing in it!) But the car is appearing very rough at the moment, I’ve got around 20k to put into it which should give it a decent chance of another life. I’m just trying to find out the history on it at the moment but can’t seem to find much so far the issues I’ve come across are: Interior is poor - I wouldn’t let my dog live in it! - Already sourced all the boot trim and a new Momo steering wheel injectors are leaking intercooler is caked in oil traction control light is on rear shocks are nackered diag port cables have been cut Heater matrix was blocked - Fixed this Window regulator cable had snapped - Got a new one from Toyota. not many issues, I’m just more annoyed he couldn’t be honest about the car. I’ve been through arguements with Assad and he said he would have the car back for 15k Down from the 21k I paid. You live & Learn!
