  1. Silver didn`t do too well for me!
  2. I`m 27, 5 yrs NCB, an accident under my belt, protected no claims with Elephant (i know, i know) = £729 fully comp. EDIT: Oops, 94 J Spec TT6
  3. Digsy if you could PM me your email i`ll forward some emails from the bloke in California. While i`m down the shed tomorrow tinkering with the Supra i`ll take some more photo`s. Thanks again for your help. Dave
  4. I do the labour, that`s just parts. I definately don`t belong in Supra circles but when you want something so much you find a way. I can only afford to run it at weekends but the smile stays on my face all week. I`m one of those people that are lucky to be alive and realise that no one lasts forever so i decided that if i was ever going to have my dream car i had to get straight down to the bank and be a suckarse with my bank manager. But when i get in this car and drive i couldn`t care less if i can afford it or not, i`m too busy smiling.
  5. P`d off. Cars been off the road nearly six weeks because i couldn`t afford the tax and MOT. Get the money together for it and had an MOT today and it was all good apart from the passenger lower ball joint. Been quoted £221 + VAT. Can`t believe it! Going on holiday to Brighton on Monday and was going to take the Supra so i`m a bit miffed now. It`s only ever been to Lincoln and back which is 30 miles each way, so i was looking forward to give it a good run. It had a long run once back from Chris Wilsons but i got a puncture about two miles from his house and it wrote the tyre off so i had to drive home at 40mph on the space saver. My mates call me Lucky Dave!
  6. I have 19" on my car but i`d rather have 18". The 19s look good but after only have the car two minutes and hitting a small pothole and writing off a tyre, i can tell you it`s soul destroying. 30 profile on the back just leaves you open to knackering a tyre and maybe even a wheel. Can get expensive. I only have them because they were already on the car and i can`t afford 18" technospeeds. As for handling i think you`d only notice the difference on a track as on the road i can`t fault it.
  7. Cheers Digsy, i`ll get onto sorting out some more photo`s and info next week. Top bloke.
  8. Ta. If you go through the Google language tool it translates a good proportion into English. Slow at this time of the year but in a few weeks they`ll probably be a lot more on. If you like old Jap cars like me then always at the bottom of the list of the manufacturers is - IN ADDITION which lists the classics. Could be dangerous though as i`ve now fallen in love with an original Mitsubishi FTO.
  9. Was trying to point this 2002 model with 21,500km starting at £13,600.
  10. Darn it. The link shortens automatically. From the link above follow this: Click - AUCTION Left hand side - AUTOMOBILE AND MOTORCYCLE left hand side - AUTOMOBILE BODY left hand side - TOYOTA then pick the japanese symbol above STARLET and this brings up the Supras for sale.
  11. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.yahoo.co.jp&langpair=ja%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools Good starting price, low mileage as well.
  12. I`d enjoy my drive far more if i could afford to use the Supra instead of driving my Skoda pick-up!
  13. What`s up with you all? I can`t wait to get to bed so i can look forward to getting up at 6 and driving 30 miles to work. I love it! Roll on the morning.
  14. If it was money no object, then this baby. Went for £100,000 though. Ouch!
  15. There is 7915 and WM9043. WM stands for William Mills who cast the Lotus heads. This is some info someone given to me from an Elan forum: "The absence of the Lotus part number that was also cast into the heads again suggests its an early development head before the Elan and its parts numbers were finalised. Vegantune did at one time make twin cam heads for Caterham in 78/79 after Lotus stopped making them. The supply was negotiated between Lotus, Caterham and Vegantune, William Mills cast 50 heads but could do no more due to lack of capacity. The foundrys Vegantune tried after William Mills were not available to do the casting did not make many successful heads due to porosity ( see page 201 of Wilkins book) and the program stopped." QED are the source of the other information that i have found out.
  16. Digsy, now found out that it is a pre-production head. The rumour is that three were made and that was it. Confirmation of numbers made or any further info would be great. If there were only three, then i`ve found them. We have one, QED have one and a fella in California have one. it would be nice to know for sure.
  17. http://www.hjl.com It`s just an empty bare shell waiting to go onto the R/C car when it arrives. That is in the Woodone colours. Can`t wait. The shell looks quite good on its own though as they`ve displayed it.
  18. If you think thats bad Bobbeh you should have seen the attempts before it. It looked like it was doing 100mph and was just a blur. I`m crap.
  19. I got a Kyosho Mini-Z Racer. Well actually i got a spare shell for one and the actual R/C car hasn`t arrived yet but should be here by the end of the week. It`s a wide arch mutha. Maybe a jap touring car one? Ace quality and detail, can`t wait for it to arrive.
  20. Dude, i`d nip her down the Docs mate to be safe but it sounds a bit like dermatitis.
  21. These are the differences: 1) It has short camshafts. The end bearing cap before the half moon seals at the end of the head are not there. In fact there isn`t even the holes to bolt the end cap on if you wanted to. 2) The cast inlet trumpets are about an inch and a half longer. 3) It doesn`t have the cast "box" on the base of the end inlet trumpet that passes oil in and out of the head to the block. This isn`t a butchered head, this is factory standard. Any help greatly appreciated.
  22. Here`s some pics comparing against a standard head. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/[email protected]/album?.dir=4915&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//uk.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos
