  1. Slight delay in doing this but planning to do it on Saturday. Still not 100% sure on the rear caliper if there's any bits I should be careful not to paint... Can anyone help???? Here's a photo of the rear caliper (not mine)... Thanks
  2. UK spec ejector seats
  3. Cheers buddy - just PMd you incase you didn't check the thread again so ignore that one. Thanks
  4. Is that a Clifford accessory or just an add-on from a different supplier?
  5. Don't know but I'll find out. Cheers for that. I suppose the danger with all of these is that someone who knows what they're doing can disconnect it. They seemed to disconnect the factory alarm without too much trouble. Maybe a padlock on the bonnet is the way forward.
  6. Toad sounds good and I checked and you can get a pager add on (500m range). But the accessory loop on the Clifford sounds pretty handy. Esp as the same people could easily rock up and do it again. PS Don't tell me - old money people also don't go abroad for holidays - I already guessed.
  7. near Camden. Just spoke to him and they didn't actually break any windows but the garage said they have opened the bonnet from underneath and disconnected the alarm/battery etc. Police looked for fingerprints etc but unsurprisingly there's none.
  8. So the Toad sounds popular. What happens when the proximity sensors are alerted? presumably it beeps several times and if you don't move the alarm goes off? I think I'll get him to go for a Toad then - the Clifford ones are apparently much more prone to false alarms.
  9. I once saw a Supra on Queensway which had blue flashing lights on the dash linked up to the alarm - don't know if this is a particular model or an add-on. Anyway, it was a fast and furious one so I went over it for a closer look and it started to signal unhappiness to me which kept me from going near it! Presumably that's just the proximity sensors. Always runs the risk that kids hang around setting it off though..... I just can't believe that people actually steal like this. Total cost of repairs/replacements is £5k.
  10. Hi all, have tried to search for this but too many threads come up. My bro picked up a BMW330 on the weekend and just 4 days later has had the bumpers, skirts and a lot of engine parts stolen overnight. Sometimes you've gotta wonder. Anyway, he obviously wants to do away with the existing alarm and go for something better. What would people recommend? This is the 3rd time he has had trouble in his area so it seems worth it. I had a relay to the horn and pager system on an alarm as extras but wondering what models to go for? Nick
  11. Pretty large - about the size of the palm of my hand. But the tyre wasn't flat until the next day so luckily didn't drive on it flat and risk damaging the rims. First thing I did was check the tyres when I heard the noise so not quite sure how I missed it, unless I was unlucky enough to have actually stopped with it on the tarmac where I couldn't see/feel it!
  12. Problem solved!! Tried gear changes that evening but did not affect it. Ticking carried on getting faster as car sped up. Went out next morning to have a good look and car didn't quite look right. Tyre flat and found metal plate from building site next door stuck on+in it. Less than ideal!! But less costly than engine problem I guess....
  13. Guys, I'm really sorry. I've had some "issues" at work so haven't had a chance to speak to Vince/Andy yet. I will do so by end of tomorrow and post up. Nick
  14. Nice one. Def worth a go. Makes sense to me. Will try this later. Thanks for the help mate.
  15. Yeh that makes sense - I'm in auto so will switch to manual and see if the ticking is at a different speed depending on the gear I'm in but staying at the same speed. So if the ticking changes speed when I change gear (but I don't change speed) then it is a belt... right?
  16. Cheers mate. Having looked through that I think the sounds are unrelated and that I just hadn't noticed the charcoal canister before. Think the ticking may be a belt or something else...
  17. Hi all, Took my Supe out this evening and got down the road and it is making a funny ticking noise... hard to describe but if you imagine a bit of newspaper stuck to a tyre and then the noise that would make on the road then it sounds a bit like that. Thought it might be the wheels at first but they are obviously turning a lot faster than the ticking. It gets faster as I go faster. There is a lot of static noise from whatever is in the back right of the engine bay as you stand at the front of the car but this may be normal - I have no idea. Any ideas? Came straight home and not keen to take it out again at the mo... Nick
  18. Sorry to hear this mate + that pic is awful. Main thing is you are ok and lucky thing is you didn't have a passenger.
  19. It does indeed! Anyone else wanting to join this please advise by the end of tomorrow - Thursday as will be speaking to G&B on Friday. Cheers, Nick
  20. SORRY MATE! My only excuse is that I use next doors wireless - bad connection - so don't flick back through the pages as it takes ages to load each one and forgot. You are right. You are down for some front seats. We can get favourable prices if we buy together. It is not the most orthodox form of group buy as they are not traders on here so it is more difficult to organise. I honestly believe that we will get better prices by buying together. 1. Nickyboy - 2 colours 2. Gamer - front seats 3. Paul - front and rear beige If no-one else wants to join in the next couple of days I will speak to them before the end of the week to organise prices if you want me to.
  21. Well they've given the 2 colours + logos + piping offer if sufficient interest. This is a discount on normal prices. Still after those bits I PM'd you about BTW. Will try to call tom.
  22. No. Shame you spelt it wrong when you got to the crux of your argument.
  23. OK mate, I'm 100% in so maybe we should see what prices are like for the two of us to start with as there doesn't seem to be a massive amount of interest for the time being. I will be going for the front and back in 2 colours with piping and logos.
  24. We need 5 people to commit for favourable prices.
