  1. Do you have any pictures mate? As good as hamilton’s look it doesn’t hurt to have a 2nd set of examples
  2. Same boat here, I loved the look of the do luck but not the most practical! Thanks and good to hear some people are actually following it
  3. Hey Noz, if you have a photo it would be interesting to see. I think for my ability and patience level I’ll just etch and then spray the outside of the plastic sidelight pod the same colour as the rest of the insert.
  4. Easiest way to tell is to give them a thump with your knuckles. If it hurts they’re UK, if it doesn’t they’re jspec BTW, not fully serious here but it’s a valid check if you’re not familiar with the light differences
  5. You’re right, it probably is the angle, but might as well do it while the lights are apart. I won’t be using it as a sidelight anyway. Loving the do-luck front, takes me back to my old car! It sure makes you aware of speed bumps and road height changes
  6. That seals it for me, love the look. Thanks @Hamilton I think I’ll black out the side light though as the car they’re going on is facelift.
  7. Mate, thanks! That’s exactly what I was hoping to see and hear Do you have any side profile or quarter angle pictures?
  8. Has anyone done or seen any pictures of UK lights with the backs painted grey like the facelift ones? After having UK front lights for years I do like the extra clarity they provide at night, but not the way they look. I’m tempted to try it but don’t want to potentially ruin a perfectly good set of lights in the process!
  9. You can get an NA manual project Supra for less than £10k, seen quite a few come up over the last few months. I just one for less than that and it was aero top. £30k will get you a really good one.
  10. So back to work on the car today with @evinX. Unfortunately work will slow down a lot now due to other commitments and inevitable poorer weather. We started on a few jobs today but didn’t complete many unfortunately. 1) first thing we need to do is troubleshoot why the car is cutting out after running for around a minute. It seems to be fuel related so first step is to replace the old stock pump. I went for a Walbro 350lph pump from Whiftbitz as it was the closest match to a UK pump. Unfortunelty the only fuel proof shrink wrap we had wasn’t large enough so we had to abandon the job for now. 2) we started to remove the rear crash bar. It’s extremely rusty and we knew the bolts were poor, so we cut the metal sections away for better access. Unfortunately there is almost nothing left of the bolt heads so had to abandon that too! We’ll need to try and weld some nuts to the heads and see if they will come out. 3) Kev cut away the 4 bolts leftover from the trial rear and painted some epoxy on the holes. This is to get ready for the replacement oem bumper. 4) Dismantled the sagging front bumper to get the lower lip off. Unfortunately the side markers and indicator bolts are completed rusted on so I’ll need to buy some new ones (already have new oem side markers). I’ll put this bumper up for sale as it is. 5) Found TWO good condition boot carpets in storage I forgot I had. At least that’s one thing off the list Rusty crash bar! Dismantled, will be up for sale shortly: Need a clean after years in the garage roof space, I don’t even remember how/when I got these
  11. That's the support bracket for the stock airbox. It mounts to the chassis leg just behind the headlight. Part number 17771-46010, about £8
  12. Good to hear you sourced one
  13. End of an era… the silver supra is sold However it’s all good as it now means I have enough money to finish the RSP to a good standard. I have some good body parts coming over the course of the next week. In the mean time a brand new facelift bumper and foam support from Keron. Considering the price 2nd hand ones have been selling for recently the new price was quite reasonable.
  14. Sorry mate, sold this today.
  15. Hi, it's provisionally sold. Buyer is hopefully visiting Saturday so I'll know then.
  16. Thanks @Dieter, noted and that will be a job for the next time I work on the car. If it doesn’t solve it then we’ll get the pump out and either clean or replace it. Thanks @TuneR I follow what you were getting at now That makes sense and since this is a higher milage car the lines have probably been changed at least twice before. Also added to the job list for next time! Dont delay mate, go spend an hour doing a basic job on the car, it’ll get you started again. As a father of a young lad I totally understand mate! However in my case without Kev’s constant kicks in the backside the car would probably not have any work done. Sometimes you need a kick to find the time. At least it turned out to be beneficial for my boy as he absolutely loves spending time with Kev and myself fixing the car up
  17. 2. Yes we did and those are on the brakes that now have bleed problems. I don’t believe anything needs to be deburred, it’s normally plugs and play. I’ve fitted goodridge lines probably 10 times and never had an issue before. It may well still be related to the lines though so appreciate the suggestion. I’ll have a closer look when I take the lines off 6. Noted The system was fully empty when it arrived and it has a cooler bypass due to the fmic. It’s one item we’ve not fully inspected yet. I’ll have a look at the filter too.
  18. As per picture. Often removed when installing aftermarket shocks so hopefully someone has a set going spare.
  19. We had another good day on the car today. She’s now drivable Thanks again to @evinX, we did it mate! It only took 3 months Honestly, it’s such a relief that it’s now driving and 95% complete. 1) TB Devs chassis brace is in and looks beautiful! 2) Brakes are bled. We had an issue with the front brakes as we keep getting bubbles. There’s no leaks and everything is tightened up so we’re not sure what’s going on. The callipers came off a working car only a couple of months ago so I doubt the seals have gone on them. 3) 1st decat pipe has been removed and a stock cat fitted along with oem gaskets. Thanks @Big Supesfor the great deal on this! You’ve once again kept this project going with the UK spec parts! The best part is the exhaust now lines up. It appears the decat pipe that came with the car was not made correctly… 4) Exhaust is on 5) OEM seatbelts are fitted and all the interior panels are installed. Boot area also completed and even oem tool kit put in. Just need to make a hardboard floor and make a boot carpet. 6) There’s a whine coming from the power steering pump. It wasn’t doing this when the car first arrived so we suspect it needs bleeding. Fluid levels are fine. 7) The remaining fuel and brake line supporting clips are fully fitted and the shields installed. 8. The car is running rich and cutting out once it’s warmed up. We think this might be due to the absence of the 2nd O2 sensor. Since it’s a series 2 shell there isn’t even the wiring for it, so we’re going to have to figure out how to add a bypass. 9) Seats are installed, just need to buy a few more bolts as I didn’t have as many as I thought. Next steps are decide on which headlights I’ll use (black pre-facelift or UK). Pickup the rear bumper I bought and fit it. Fit the side pods and hockey sticks that should be on the way here soon. Order a full new set of tyres. Fix numerous small things… One of the IC pipes popped off on the latter half as they weren’t connected up properly. Got a bit too enthusiastic with the throttle!
  20. @Mike2JZ Many thanks for the detailed response From what I’ve read USDM and UK are almost identical on the loom pins. We will give this a try at the weekend.
  21. Yes, stock UK engine and loom, plugged into a series 2 shell. Everything else appears to be working as normal except the oem boost gauge (useless as they are, but it might indicate a future issue I’ve not detected yet). The car has not been driven yet so it’s not seen any positive boost. Edited to add: As far as I can ascertain there are no wire breaks, nothing aftermarket added and it’s 100% stock on the Engine, engine loom and Ecu side.
  22. This lovely bit of kit arrived today. The only chassis brace I could find was on eBay for silly money, so went for this heavy duty one from @TBDevelopments. Incredibly well made and came with extra long bolts. It was cheaper than a rusty 2nd hand one too
  23. Thanks @Peter P, I will take a look I wasn’t aware this was an option so appreciate your input. I don’t know the name of the aftermarket ones as they were provided by Kev, however he’s had the same in his car for a while and they seem pretty good so far. One thing I didn’t like was that the oem bolt location wasn’t able to be used so unless that can be solved I’ll be going back to the tired oem ones and get them refurbed as you suggest. Unfortunately new belts and buckles are discontinued from Toyota so aftermarket or repair are the only options now.
