  1. They could have used a feed from further down the line (such as the IC pipe), but it really should be mounted as close as possible to point where the air is leaving the compressor blades, hence why pretty much every turbo has the mounting on the compressor
  2. Just to add, the line between the rail and the fpr was replaced a couple of months before Darren bought it (The XS power one on there before perished). It was replaced with a standard rubber fuel line - however it's a simple and cheap thing to swap out again if only for elimination.
  3. Crikey, thats a bit of a surprise! Loved his work, but didn't like the way he treated his employees
  4. I think the driveshaft is bent inside the hub. Gave it another go with the hub off the car and in a vice, several full force swings with a sledge hammer didn't move it one bit. The 6x4 the vice is mounted too nearly snapped though! I think the whole assembly is fubared so will bin the lot. Edit: Heard from Fargo that the driveshaft was stuck to the hub and couldn't be removed, so it was swapped too. Thanks, but would have preferred to know about this before. Grrrr, thanks for wasting my afternoon!!!
  5. As Kieren says, you'll need to drill and tap a hole on the compressor housing

    2 questions to ask!

It theory the TT auto will do 212mph IIRC, the manual 198mph on stock rev limit and stock sized wheels. The reality is rather different!
  7. This was on the side where the hub got swapped out with one from a damaged car while it was at Phoenix. The hub is warped, I know that already, maybe the driveshaft was from the damaged car too... I've removed the hub and driveshaft in one bit so will just source a replacement driveshaft.
  8. In the service manual it says to 'lightly tap the end of the driveshaft' to remove
  9. This thing just will not come out! It's been sprayed with plenty of pentrating oil and I've even resorted to hitting it full on with a 7ib sledge hammer - still no joy!
  10. Sorry for the delay Michel, I need to keep this one, sorry
  11. I believe Matt Harwood fully checked out the pump voltages under several conditions and confirmed everything to be in order. This is really odd, the car was running superb when Ryan mapped it last under my ownership and there was no sign of excess moisture from the exhaust at that time. The water getting to the exhaust has to be the key to the problems here - wouldn't that screw up the mapping, especially the water temp correction (i.e when it gets hot the wideband is reading lean so the map - based on the O2 readings - causes it to add in extra fuel where it's not needed? Hence drop in fuel pressure?) It has to be something fatigue related as the symptoms Darren explained appear to be getting worse
  12. Ah, you mean the prop shaft, not driveshaft mate! TT 6spd prop shafts are pretty rare to come by, you might have to buy new
  13. Love that 1st pic Gary! (needs to be cropped though )
  14. Thanks Steve Thats my main motivation to get it 'looking' complete! It'll be off to storage in month until the relocation is sorted out. All the mounts to attach the lower lip helped straighten it out, It's not perfect, but should sort itself out once the lower wheel wells are fitted. I'm not going aftermarket on the looks, it'll be a sleeper Edit - forgot to remove the front plate - doh! Is that your current one Jazz? I'd better edit it out if it is.
  15. Seeing as the weather was nice, here's yet another update Fitted the rear seats, boot plastics, toolkit, boot carpet, tailgate plastic (Huge thanks to Wez for donating much of this for free!). What I didn't realise was that the aero boot carpet is different to the hardtop, so need to chop it up to get it to fit. Thats a shame as it's a mint condition carpet http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/7387/bootfloorsi9.th.jpg http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/2199/rearseatssl4.th.jpg Fitted the upper glove box and used some mild mildew/mould remover on the entire cabin. Most of the plastic had a little bits of mould growing where it's been fairly open the elements over the last few years. Also gave it a coat of armor all to help protect the finish. http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4039/interiorupdate3qr7.th.jpg Also fitted the front bumper (Huge thanks to Jazz1 for donating this for nothing): http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9990/frontbumperfittednf4.th.jpg Until now I've been pretty lucky with the colour match, the doors and spoiler are the same shade as the shell, the bonnet a little different (probably as it's quite well polished where as the rest is hasn't been cleaned/polished in years). The front bumper is a litte off colour/faded, but I am hoping that after a full machine polish the colours will match up better! Also fitted the rad clamps (Thanks to Jevansio for providing for free!) and removed yet more from the engine bay wiring. Forgot to take a pic again but will try again tomorrow if there's any progress made. The total spend so far is £394.98
  16. My pride and joy. It's been de-spoilered, de-doored, de-engined
  17. I've been slowly going this this over the last few days and as Chris says there are certainly some controls which use the engine loom. The lights and indicators don't and as far as I can find the ABS doesn't appear to either. The AC certainly does and many of the warning systems do. I've got all the wiring diagrams printed out and will be going through the pinouts on the fusebox and the large orange plugs in the footwell to see what is on the loom. Sorry I can't be of more help... yet!
  18. Not too sure on that, the blind seems to be some sort of vinyl, I can send you a small bottle of dye to give it a try? I bought it from this guy: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/kaz01462 Will do, they'll be in my project thread
  19. As above Shane, you need to do two things: 1) Tick the box in your UserCP to request a members pack 2) Complete your name and address details in your UserCP It's pretty difficult to send you one without these
  20. Ah bummer! It cost £25 so no great loss. Will be looking for things that need dying black in the next few weeks
  21. Jeez mate, that’s one hell of a shocking experience This is one reason I always put up with the infuriating Clifford auto-locking system.
  22. Homer

    massive thanks

Nice one Gaz, hope this car is finally where it should be soon. ...and the cynical me would say you sell it and start another project shortly after
