  1. Lovely looking car there. As had been said before, it's only worth what the buyer is willing to pay If you're after maximum money stick it up for a high price and see if you get any interest, if not then you can always drop to something realistic. Someone like me wouldn't pay more than £2k for an NA, but there's others out there that will pay large prices for cars that look the part
  2. If it's not misfiring when on full boost it points to an issue with the idle control IMO. However a first very simple check to make is to remove the coil pack connectors and check they are not brittle or have any missing insulators. Second check would be to do as Daston says and give the O2 sensor an overnight clean in lemon juice (be sure to clean it off before reinstalling), if it idles well afterwards it's time to order a new O2 sensor.
  3. Hi and welcome Before we all start 2nd guessing your intentions, can you give an approximate budget you have in mind for the initial purchase price? Auto or manual?
  4. I thought the UK and jspec 2nd cats were different? The UK has a 2nd oxygen sensor in one of the cats (can't remember if it's the 1st or 2nd one). On a TT or hybrids 2.5 diameter is plenty, you only need more for large turbos
  5. Sounds like they either have mounted the exhaust incorrectly or have missed installing a gasket. It's be pretty darn hard to bend a pipe so bad the flanges don't sit flush! The exhaust would have had to come off to do the gbox work which is why I'd say it's incorrect installation rather than it being bent. What is the cat back system? Some systems are not straightforward to fit...
  6. All the best Pete, hope you have a good day and get suitably spoiled
  7. If you want to get an idea how your postcode is viewed by insurance (and other) companies take a look at http://www.upmystreet.com I took a look at your one and it's pretty bad TBH, which is probably why you're getting such bad quotes. The strange thing is, mine is rated slightly worse, but my insurance is only about 50% higher than most here. (13yrs driving, 13yrs no claims though & no points which probably helps!)
  8. So... how much did you get it for?
  9. I know Jezz has a few of the warning light clusters in stock
  10. Missed this the first time round. It always surprises me what a difference the UK lights make
  11. I might have a Real challenge for you in the summer How about a car thats not been washed for 3 years?
  12. I don't think it can be done from inside the car, but it can be done fairly easily from underneath. The exhaust, prop and selector mechanism has to be removed. It's not a tricky job, but not something you'd really want to do on the driveway. I'd just pay the hours labour needed and get a garage to do it.
  13. Yep, thats the selector seal, it's a very common issue. As it's increddibly difficult to remove the seal, both the guy in the US and those here just press another seal over the top of the exisiting one. It's stopped the leak on the few dozen cars Phoenix have done.
  14. When viewing the pics they are compressed to fit a small window and are pixelated. Either the view window needs to be resized to view the full image or the image needs to be enlarged to remove jagged edges, One of the clued up web guys will be along to advise shortly
  15. The layout is fairly good and the navigation works well. However the jpg compression is terrible, if it's a site to showcase the car you'll need to sort that out
  16. I feel for you mate, I really do, but if you own a nickable car in a blacklisted postcode you're going to get killed on insurance no matter what your own However Supra's are still very cheap to insure compared to most other jspec cars of this power level.
  17. 6K!! I've never heard of a quote so high. What age are you and do you have convictions? Edit - just seen your age. At 20 you're going to stuggle if it's for a TT, but even so 6k is madness for any Supra unless you've had a ban/DD imposed in the past
  18. It's a good point, but the waiting list on those is going to be huge (from what has been mentioned on other sites), so they might be a possible option if 4leks has time on his side
  19. If it's a daily car then you can rule out the Fezza The 996TT would be the best of the other two options IMO. However, if it was a weekend toy and you're not concerned about running costs it'd be the Ferrari, no question!
  20. Any decat pipe from 2.25 to 3 inch diameter will do the job. A two piece is preferred as you can swap a 2nd cat back in very easily come MOT (if needed) Also worth having a 2nd cat with a bung ready fitted for a wideband O2 sensor. Chris Wilson would be my preferred choice as the pipes he supplied me with were superb and after 4 years (35k miles) of daily use had no sign of rust.
  21. In some cases, you're not wrong
  22. For years it seemed normal to have any sort of car tailgate/drive aggressively around me, but since switching to a big ar*e BMW estate none of this happens, no matter what speed I'm at, or wherever conditions apply. Still get let out at junctions, no real difference than before TBH! I think that the Supra does attract aggressive idiots to act in moronic ways when you're on the road
  23. Zen are very good indeed, I've heard excellent feedback from people using them in the SW. Shame you can't get cable, the ex-NTL Virgin XL package is extremely fast. 20MB connection for £34 a month, download speeds are now more dependant on the site rather than the connection, example below at around 2MB/s (torrent download, graph shows about 40 minutes usage).
