  1. Can't believe it, my sensible low mileage BMW is wrecked I was driving steadily along the road when a car on the side road on my left jumps out of the road right in front of me! Couldn't have had even a second to react, so only managed to turn the wheel right a little before hitting her. She was turning right out the side road so crossing the road in front of me, the entire front of her car is caved in so I'm pretty sure it's her fault... even though she tried to blame me! Thats rich considering her first words were "I didn't even see you" Thankfully no one hurt, I've just got a stiff neck and for some reason a bruised knee. Hopefully no aches tomorrow. Insured through Sky so hopefully they'll be able to sort me out a hire car before the weekend (sister is due to give birth in a few days and my father goes into hospital for a major op, so need a car in the next two weeks). Some pics below...
  2. Possibly Ray's or Wkdtime's

    How about P133 POT ?
  4. Yep, thats really poor, unless you live very far from an exchange (or don't have cable)

    610 Bhp!

A very nice result there Charlie, congrats! Is this with the WI running? What boost level is it at? Edit, never mind, too slow
  6. Fair enough mate Sounds like you have a good combo there, why not combine the two
  7. Thanks very much for the info mate I really only need 3 or 4 sheets (it's to refurb some plastic lights) PM send!
  8. Nice price Proof that these cars can be picked up for not a lot if you search and be patient How long are you keeping it for? I might be interested in a sound shell around summer time.
  9. As Jamesmark says the site you're downloading from is the key here. Speedtest.net is one of the better ones for testing your current connection, but as a guidline your one is about the same as a 4MB download, 0.4MB upload On high seed/peer ratio torrents I get higher results than even the speedtest site (20MB download can easily be maxed out)
  10. From broadband.org: 3976 Kbps download 692 Kbps upload From speedtest.net: 16091 Kbps download 732 Kbps upload
  11. Thats not a very good site, they don't have the bandwidth to do high bandwidth tests. It only registered 4MB speed for me, but on other speed test sites I get over 4 times that
  12. Sorry for the pic quality, these were just general ones Here you can see the heater ECU (cream box above the stereo) and the 3 plugs resting above it that connect to the heather control unit. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3593/interiorupdatehc3.th.jpg
  13. Does anyone have any recommendations where to source this from? None of the local hardware stores or motor factors can supply anything finer than 1500 grit.
  14. Git There's no need to break into my Supra, the doors aren't even locked!
  15. It's a bit difficult to underdstand which parts you're referring to. Presumably you've sourced a replacement dash panel and the heater control unit itself (the bit with the buttons on it)? The wires that connect to the heater controls link to the heater control ECU which sits on top of the stereo cage. Make sure that heater control unit it still there and the plugs are secure. I can post some pics of the units that should be behind the dash it it helps? Obviously it'll be from RHD, not sure if the units are different for LHD cars...
  16. If you don't modify the running costs are very reasonable provided you don't pick up a dog. If you get a bad one then repair costs can be very high. I looked into the Skyline a few years ago (R33 GTR) but the insurance was horrendous and running costs seemed to be much higher. They are also a lot more expensive to get power out of.. on the other hand they are a far easier car to drive fast and a mildly modded GTR is quicker at sub motorway speeds. A widebody is a nightmare. They are VERY expensive to fit and paint (budget £4-6k) and then you have to add in the costs of a very wide set of wheels (£2k+) and the worry of ever pranging it. You're doing the right thing though - asking the questions before buying. I'd also recommend asking on the skyline forum to get the "other" picture.
  17. Ask the same question on the Skyline forum and I'm sure you'll get 100% opposite of whats been posted here All I would suggest is that you take a few examples of each for a drive and make your decision on those experiences (plus a bit of research on running costs, insurance and if it's your thing - the engine/chassis modifications possible on both). As good as the feedback here can be I certainly wouldn't recommend basing your decision on whats posted on a Supra owners club, it might be considered a little one sided
  18. nope, it's not. Good point though! I don't have an impact wrench so it kind of rules that out I already tried with just a socket on a 1/2 in driveand a 4 foot scaffold pole, all that happened was the wheel span. I stuck a few bags of cement in the boot but I guess the car is too light to put much force down to the ground (no engine & drivetrain) Yep, tried that too, but it didn't make a difference. With the cars past life I wouldn't be surprised if the thread or bolt have twisted. All the studs on the hub were already sheared Think I'm just going to remove the hub & driveshaft in one lot and bin them
  19. No you certainly wouldn't, he's a big fella! I can second that, Sir The aero panel is about an 3/4inch thicker than the hardtop, so not too much of a big deal I think Ian C is one of the tallest supra owners here, he's something like 6ft 8in but says he's never had a problem

    my lil project

Crikey, good luck! What are you having done (apart from the obvious respray.. unless you're keeping it like that?) Interested in the skirts, PM on it's way
  21. Battery cut-off and external charge point for the batteries The tow bar is long gone
  22. Nice one guys, I'll start a new thread off for the roll-call in a week or two I'm sure someone will offer you 'the experience' Jamie Give any enthusiastic Supra owner a chance to show off their car and there will be a queue of them offering a ride
